Dr. Shahabul Arfeen, MD

I have a concern about one of your nephrologist by the name of Dr. Arfeen. My parents (George Gross) had a horrible experience with him yesterday during an office visit (Michigan City). His gross misconduct and dismissive behavior was unacceptable. I was on speaker and heard the way that he addressed my 81 year old father. If he can NOT address every patient with patience and dignity, maybe he should take a day off! I would have never imagined that a nephrologist/professional that says he studied at Harvard, an assistant professor at IU School of Medicine and him being a minority (Pakistanian), to be so arrogant to treat his elders in this manner. I am a provider and my husband is also a physician in this area. We have both been practicing for years. This is beyond sad and upsetting. His arrogance and bedside manner is something that should be looked into. I am sure that I am not the first person to bring this to your attention. I plan on making posts on every social media outlet,… newspaper, medical board and insurance companies to make it known that patients should not have to pay for or tolerate this behavior from someone in power in their most vulnerable times. I pray that his parents/family are never treated in the manner in which he treated mine!
