Dr. Shahid Saifuddin Insaf, MD

I have been to many psychiatrists over the years, and Dr. Insaf finally arrived at the correct diagnosis and found the right medications for me. He has literally saved my life.

Dr Insaf is very good (THE BEST) but the billing staff is incompetent. The billing staff (HIS WIFE) is the rudest mercenary little gold digger I have ever met, and she runs the show. My insurance company has told them the codes that are acceptable and the billing staff refuses to bill under those codes and sends me the bills. Unless you are willing to pay out of pocket, go somewhere else.

Dr. Insaf comes across as very experienced and tries to implement himself as "boutique psychiatry" for the elite client. However, this could not be further from the truth. Patients are made to get drug test at every single appointment, my wife and I had an out of pocket deductible of 3000 that we had to meet before my insurance paid, so I paid for these drug test every month, I have never had a drug problem! I am just on a few controlled substances he started! Then his wife sends them out on every visit even if you have never had an issue with negative drug screens simply because our insurances was paying close to 400 dollars for each of these. I reported him to my insurance and they are investigating. Everyone waits days for a return call, sometimes you will go the entire weekend w/out your medication. His nurse told me one day that Dr. Insaf wasn't sending in the controlled meds himself, that she was, so therefore she would get to it "when she got to it." You get an assigned… appointment time, they didn't care when I would tell them I had to be at work early or that I needed to drop my son off at school- they would say "this is when he will see you." One time I was on my way to work and got a flat tire and called to reschedule my visit, and even after having NEVER missed an apt before got charged a fee. His wife has changed my prescriptions and told me Dr. Insaf made the change, then when I went in to see him he didn't even know I was on that med. They will give you 28 tablets of a medications vs. 30 depending on your apt date and sometimes I have to pay two copays in a month because of this junk! He may spend his time, but most of the time it is listening to himself talk.

AVOID! The office manager/wife for the clinic uses dishonest billing practices, is disrespectful to patients & staff and interferes with patient care. I had been a patient here for years, while there I noticed the office manager berate and talk down to the staff as well as patients. She would also listen in to confidential information about patients and interfere while patient vitals were being taken by the trained staff. I liked Dr. Insaf, so I continued to be treated there. But the final straw for me was when there was a technical difficulty at the office that caused them to change my appointment and method of treatment. This change caused a coverage issue with my insurance, which made it so my insurance was not able to cover the charge. This was not communicated with me by the office and when I tried to discuss it with the staff or office manager, they were unwilling to negotiate. I also canceled my final appointment the day before was scheduled, and I was still billed a late fee.

I saw this practice for about a year. I waited to write my review because I wanted to see how it all played out and of course as everyone else is saying it turned out horribly. The doctor himself is good but he put me on so many meds and one specifically that almost cost me my marriage. It had horrible side effects that I was not warned about plus with my mental health and anxiety issues my primary doc told me that he woulve never put me on that knowing my conditions. Also, there is only 2 clinics that do suboxone therapy in Branson and I cannot recommend either one. After I lost my whole life, was broken mentally, financially and emotionally I went to the other doc dr Weber and he denied me treatment due to the crap that the emo logic clinic said after sending my records. I think its possible we all get together and see our legal options at this point with so many others with the same implications. My life was literally ruined by this office. And from what I'm reading others feel the… same. Tort lawyers where are u at? They charge people outrageous fees just because they can. Its extortion and what happened to me personally along with others this place needs to be shut down. Dont go!!!

Started out strong and I can see where he helps some people, but he eventually would not listen to me! He put me on a medication I had no business being on (per two subsequent psychiatrists), and when I complained about other medications that were causing impairments worse than the disease itself, he would not listen. The office is also mismanaged, as you can see from the other reviews. Give him a try, but don't hang your hopes here and be as disappointed as I was. And be prepared for the front office. Yikes!

Dude saved my life. I’ve been a patient since 2012 and I could fill this review with a million ways he is the best doctor ever. Unfortunately, as you will see in these reviews (holy crap going back SO many years) or possibly for yourself, his office manager (his wife) is the absolute worst. She talks down to the staff in front of clients, clients in front of other clients, she gives medical advice that she is not qualified to give since she isn’t a doctor or even a nurse. She consistently covers up mistakes and makes them, somehow, the fault of the patient (I am speaking for myself and several people that I referred to him over the years). For example meds are not filled on time and it’s either the pharmacy’s fault or the clients fault for not playing phone tag between the pharmacy and their office for weeks at a time. I’ve NEVER had to play this role at any other office. I don’t work for them, why am I doing the job of receptionist? Also, I feel like a person should get their meds on… time, EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Instead it turns into a battle to the death where you have to deal with Shabana talking down to you and telling you the many ways it’s your fault that you don’t have your meds on time. It’s honestly becoming more stressful to be in this practice than it would be to go to a sub par doctor than to have to deal with the constant monthly drama. I actually get a sinking feeling in my stomach anytime I get a call from the office, if that paints any kind of picture for you. It’s too bad because Dr. Insaf is a miracle worker, but I’m constantly amazed that he is still in practice after the horror stories from other clients, practitioners that have left over the years, and what I’ve experienced myself. It’s just such a giant mess.

Dr. Insaf is a caring, compassionate psychiatrist

I was very pleased with this office and Dr. Insaf. I have suffered from depression and addition issues and was pleased. However, I just couldn't afford it any longer. I've been a patient for three years but not going any longer because of the drive to Branson and the cost. I never had any issues with the staff, overall everyone was very nice and helpful.

His wife who is the office mgr would not release our records. My primary Dr. did not agree with some of his recommendations. Crazy medicine suggestions and other bizzare things. Stay away unless you want to keep seeing him forever.
