Dr. Shahid Mahmood, MD

My mother is a patient at this office, and our experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. It feels like this practice is more focused on generating revenue than actually caring for their patients. She was recently seen for her annual exam, yet just a few weeks later, they are requiring her to come in again — just to refill a non-controlled medication. This is someone currently undergoing chemotherapy for stage 4 cancer, who already gets labs drawn every two weeks at the cancer center. Yet this office is insisting she get additional labs done through them, and won’t refill her medication unless she makes a completely unnecessary in-person visit. Even more confusing, the doctor is part of Meritus, yet he can’t access the labs already available through MyChart? This kind of rigid, profit-driven policy shows a clear lack of compassion for patients dealing with serious illness. For a patient battling cancer, every trip to the doctor is exhausting — both physically and… financially. There should be more flexibility and empathy, not bureaucracy and red tape. If you value your time, health, and peace of mind, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Most horrific and embarrassing Dr visit of my life !!! Had appointment with Dr and he brings in his 15th new assistant ( Jen ); of course she is gone , and asked about my umbilical hernia and Mahmood said he has seen Bigger and told me to not get constipated and they both started laughing ????. His bedside manners are NON Existence !!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. !!!!! ????. If his patients leave as FAST as his employee turnover I don’t understand how he is still practicing ??. He does not CARE. !!!!!!

He is a wonderful physician. We are blessed to have him.

Dr. Mahmood has been my Primary Care doctor since he arrived in Hagerstown. He is willing to take the time to listen to my problem and actually takes the time to consider my course of treatment.

The worst money hungry people I’ve ever dealt with! And the big girl at the front desk is rude and disrespectful! The doctors wife is a total money hungry nightmare!

Dr Mahmood is very caring to me he spends time with me'' the only thing I don't like about him is he don't like to give meds even after you have visited three other pain clinics and they say there is nothing else we can do for you stay on you're meds ''I guess it's the fed's they make it hard for people with real pain to get help and the'' abuser's don't help either'' but I like him ''and Kimberly at the front desk will do any thing she can do to help very friendly and all way's smiling ''I suggest you give him a try he is a good man''

Extremely rude and useless office staff.

I Recently became a patient here and while Dr. Mahmood is fairly kind he seems too busy and overwhelmed. I couldn't explain everything I need to because his cell phone kept ringing. I then proceeded to check out and didn't know if I co make it on a specific future date and I wante to call back and his wife was sitting in a desk behind the girl helping me, she interrupted us by stating that I must schedule now, she then proceeds to tell me I n to make a ridiculous payment towards my deductible because her husband can not work for free. She expressed that he worked very hard and is barely ever home and he deserves to be paid. I was completely appalled. I Would never return there! Really disturbing that his spouse was there, secondly that she interrupted so rudely, and third that she seemed so desperate for money. If this doctor wants to keep his patients he will need to keep his wife on a tight leash.

I just moved to town and found this doctor on my list of providers. His staff is very helpful and friendly. Everyone I dealt with at Dr. Mahmoods office was great. I definitely recommend him.

Dr. can only concentrate on one thing at a time. Did not recommend accurate treatments.
