Dr. Shahida Parveen Mirza, MD

If I could give this woman zero stars I would. She was extremely disinterested, made no recommendations for my illness, and when I asked her if I should change my medications she literally said, and I quote: "It's your body, it's your choice" as opposed to giving me her scientifically driven medical opinion. She did not offer any explanations, did not make any suggestions, and did not call me to discuss my results, instead leaving that task to a nurse who did not understand the results she was communicating to me. All in all, it was a horrible experience. There's a meme that keeps making the rounds about how people argue with scientists who have spent their entire careers studying science being dismissed by people who read something on the internet, but in this case I learnt more about what was wrong with me by Googling my symptoms because God knows this woman had zero interest in explaining or making a recommendation.

She picked up my care from my excellent PCP who retired. I asked her to repeat something she said as her english pronunciation is very poor and she ignored me. Also I asked for approving my 6 month injection and she said she had to check my file and I never heard back. I am looking to change PCP.

This Dr. not only could not do basic actions like call in refills she actually asked me to call her again to make sure she didn't forget

I felt rushed and dismissed.

Dr. Mirza has been my primary care physician for 20 years. She’s very attentive and kind. Her staff is always professional and accommodative.

Dr Mirza is rude and does not take the time to get to the patient. She was dismissive and missed a significant diagnosis bc she acted like she couldn't be bothered to take the time to discuss symptoms during my appointment. I have since switched doctors and am being treated by someone much more competent.

The Dr herself called w/lab results.... not the nurse or receptionist, so if there were other concerns, they were dealt with during that call

I LOVE that she contacts me personally with any information from blood work etc.

Her new office staff in Niskayuna are very unprofessional, even coming off a little rude. When coming in to let them know I have an appointment, one girl never smiles or acknowledges you. The other tries to act like a Doctor.I really liked her office staff before she moved. The Nurses here are very nice, feel very comfortable with them.

I have been with Dr. Mirza for over 10 years and can't say enough good things about her and her staff. When a physician has a staff person that has been with them over 10 years, it says alot about a practice. I have always received excellent care, fast responses to questions and follow up. Dr. Mirza is very responsive when I am waiting for labwork follow up, or I need a prescription refill. She is kind and caring, and so is her staff.
