Dr. Shahram Daneshmand, MD

Me and my wife, who has a complex case, did a lot of research to find the top maternal fetal medicine doctor in the San Diego area. We talked to a lot of doctors and read a lot of reviews — we take a systematic approach. We landed on Dr Daneshmand as the standout choice. He guided us through the entire pregnancy and did the delivery. We don’t think we could have chosen a better doctor. The admin staff at the office is great, easy to deal with, polite. The scheduling is tight — we never felt like we were left waiting. Dr Daneshmand takes his time talking to you, like you’re talking to a friend who has all day. Our MFMRN Gabby Head was also very attentive and kind. This was a great experience all around.

Dr. D is truly an amazing person and wonderful doctor. He graciously accepted us as patients when I was 5 months pregnant and had to change doctors because of force majeure. He always made time to answer all our questions and have a chat with us about the baby and the days to come. He heard and understood my worries and respected my wishes about not having a c-section if not needed. My water broke almost 3 weeks early when he was out of town... he did not hesitate to come back to San Diego to attend my delivery and never even mentioned it!!! It goes without saying that his staff is also amazing! Gabby, Briand and the rest of the team are very professional and caring! We are forever grateful with them for taking such a good care of me and Marina!

Dr. Daneshmand and his team at Scripps Perinatology are truly amazing and by far the best Dr. I have ever visited. He is like an angel who made my pregnancy a very beautiful experience. At first I was pregnant with twins and when he kindly accepted to see us one of the babies was already lost. My husband and I were terribly sad and hopeless before we met him because my pregnancy was an IVF one and we thought that we were likely to miss the other baby as well. It was like our last chance to have our own baby. The first appointment with Dr. D was such a relief and he brought back hope to us. I was 100% sure that I was in the best hands from that day on and I could trust him and his team to do the best for me and my baby. He explained all the steps to me very kindly and did anything to make me feel safe during my pregnancy. He always answered my calls immediately and kept following checking up on me and the baby at all times. In a word, him and his team are the most caring, compassionate… and attentive medical team ever. All the staff at Scripps Perinatology are also very professional and friendly, especially Gabby who was directly in contact with me as Dr. D assistant. She was genuinely kind and caring. I could reach her out for any questions or concerns, and she was always there like a friend. We were so lucky to have him and his team with us through this journey. They are definitely the best!!!

Dr. D and his team at Scripps Pernicology (Gabby, Sarah, etc.) are amazing! They worked with me during the last 4 months of my pregnancy and I always felt genuinely cared for and that I could 100% trust them with my baby’s and my life. Even though my daughter had a terminal diagnosis, we knew she’d either die in the womb or shortly after birth, Dr. D and his team treated my unborn daughter with the respect and dignity that she was due. I never felt that anyone I worked with in Dr. D’s office saw her life as less in value because she was not healthy and was not going to live long. I will miss seeing everyone! Dr. Daneshmand and his team at Scripps Perinatology have followed us during our twin pregnancy and are amazing! I can not say enough amazing things about them. Dr. D is the most caring, compassionate and empathic doctor that I have met. He made my husband and I feel at ease during our twin pregnancy and delivered two healthy boys at 37 weeks via cesarean. The surgery went remarkably well and recovery was fast and easy. Gabby and Irma, his RNs are very attentive. I could approach them with any questions or concerns that I had. Brittany the US tech performed most of our ultrasounds and was lovely.

I always looked forward to my appts to reset my body and mind to continue on a positive path in my triplet pregnancy journey. Dr Daneshmand delivered my 3 beautiful healthy babies at 33weeks. He was, as always, calm and professional while also personal and treated my babies like his own as they were being born. He is by far the most loving and caring doctor and person that me and my wife have met. We already know about him before my wife got pregnant and we had heard nothing but great things about him and after meeting him we were even more amazed at how caring he is. He has the kindest heart and made the entire pregnancy much easier for my wife, he explained everything and any questions we had. He was always checking up with my wife pregnancy progress and well being. He did a c section on my wife and the operation was the smoothest and most professional ever and he did an amazing job bringing our son into this world. His entire staff in Scripps La Jolla is amazing including Irma Lopez who was always so attentive and nice to us. We will forever be thankful for his and his staff amazing job and will keep relying on him for future pregnancies. Best doctor by far!

Dr. Sean Daneshmand has been my doctor at Scripps La Jolla and I have never felt more comfortable and taken care of by any other doctor. I’m a first time mom pregnant with triplets and he has always been a text and call away when I’m feeling anxious, have any doubts, or scares. My husband and I love him like family and we have complete trust in him. Irma Lopez is wonderful too!! She’s always available to help and is also a text or call away. During my last visit I had Jackie as my ultrasound technician and she was just the sweetest! She really took her time looking at each baby and asking if I was comfortable and needed a break in between.
