Dr. Shahram Jacobs, MD

A very, very hard pass. The front office is very disrespectful and will not help you. Go on yelp and look at their very very low reviews. Guaranteed he’s having family members write the reviews that are here on Google, Because the real reviews on yelp say nothing of what’s being said. This office said because I cancel appointment, and I was late for another appointment. They would no longer see me. That’s fine however they didn’t do just that. When I was late for eight minutes, which by the way I called and Advanced and let them know I’d be late and they said that was fine. However, when I arrived at the office eight minutes late, they told me they could not see me and they needed to be rescheduled, so I rescheduled. I now show up today and they said oh I’m sorry since you supposedly canceled twice before, even though I was late, Not canceled, they still consider that cancellation. So they wasted my time coming here. They didn’t even have the decency to call me up and say don’t come… here because we won’t see you. So I paid $37 for an Uber, $30 for a babysitting to arrive at their office for them to tell me I’m sorry, but we won’t see you. Again, make sure you’re going on yelp and looking at very poor views. That’s more reflection of the doctors office. There are many doctors that offer functional medicine keep looking.

I needed a really good and caring PCP and was referred to Dr. Jacobs by a friend. He was thorough, caring and helped figure out why I was having my symptoms. I went to a few doctors before deciding that he is the right one. He's funny too!

I know its a cliche, but I found the best primary care physician in Los Angeles and its Dr. Shahram Jacobs. He is a genuinely caring human who is extremely knowledgeable and current on everything in his field.

My internist that I had seen for over 20 years retired, so I went to Dr. Jacobs. I liked him a lot. He seemed thorough, understanding, patient and knowledgable. He took his time to be certain that all of my concerns were addressed. At this point in time my only complaint would have been that there are people on his staff that don't know the protocol of renewing prescriptions. I had much chaos and multiple phone calls between the doctor's office and my pharmacy. My pharmacy is fabulous (Ralph's Sherman Oaks on Hazeltine and Ventura). The problem was clearly with the staff at the doctor's office. Then I had a nasty emergency. I woke up in the middle of the night with bad chest pains and I could hardly breathe. My husband called the paramedics, and they told me I was not having a heart attack. They transported me to Sherman Oaks hospital. Sherman Oaks hospital is a terrible place. Just read the reviews. In the ER they confirmed that I was not having a heart attack. Dr.… Jacobs sees patients at Sherman Oaks. Both Dr. Jacobs and the staff at Sherman Oaks hospital wanted me to stay in the hospital for observation. After looking around at all the filth in the ER, and having looked up the reviews for the hospital, I left the hospital against the advice of the staff and Dr. Jacobs. My husband called Dr. Jacob's office and they told me to come in. We went to his office immediately. He refused to look at me or talk to me. He was clearly angry that I had left Sherman Oaks hospital against his advice. I doubt very seriously that he would admit himself or his family members to this place. My husband told his office that we went to Tarzana Hospital. I "knew" he had privileges at Tarzana Hospital. I was told this by Erin, his assistant. I ended up going to Tarzana Hospital and I had to stay there for two nights. No one had ever heard of Dr. Shahram Jacobs at Tarzana. We told them many times that he was our doctor and that we were sure he worked out of that hospital. No such luck. The hospital staff appointed me an internist and a cardiologist. I had never met either of them. They were not bad at all, but they didn't know me or my history. I was in excruciating pain. That's all they could truly know of me. I never heard from Dr. Jacobs again until they called and asked me to come in for my "regular checkup". I asked if they ever got all the records from Tarzana Hospital. I swear they forgot I had gone there. To sum it up, there was no follow-up. He never called to see if I had died or had some terrible heart condition. Needless to say I needed to quickly find another doctor since my chest pains have not been diagnosed. He seemed to care in the beginning. But once I decided to take my illness to another hospital he had no further contact with me. I think he is fine until there is an emergency. Of course that's when a doctor and a relationship with a doctor is of supreme importance.

I was referred to Dr. Shahram Jacobs by a friend and was happy I went. He did a thorough job of taking my medical history while sat down on a chair. I never felt rushed or hurried. He was very personable and gave me great suggestions and alternatives to my current medications. I also went to the accupuncturist in his office. What an amazing experience. A true healer.
