This happened in 2013, it’s now 2020, and I still tell people not to go to him. I went to him thinking I might have a thyroid issue because I gained about 30lbs in a few months even though I was having tons of fruits and vegetables, water, exercise, and little if any processed food. I told him I needed to know what the problem was so I could fix it as naturally as possible but understood that medication might initially be necessary. I had a whole list of symptoms, but the only one I got out was weight gain. He quickly handed me two thick pamphlets for diet pills. He then had me sit on the table and he put his hand on my throat and told me to swallow, which I did. He requested I swallow for a second time. I was trying to get some saliva to swallow, and before I could swallow a second time he said “good” and removed his hand. Red flag there. He then announced I didn’t have a thyroid problem and I don’t think he ordered the T3 or T4 tests. He also insisted looking at my breast looking… for proof that he believes I just have a hormone imbalance. (The thyroid is in charge of hormones, Dr!) When I went back to go over the blood results and to take a metabolic test, I got the impression he didn’t know how to read the results. When I asked for a copy of the blood work (which I believe the cost to be about $400 for) he said I could have a copy of the metabolic test. Which simply told me I needed 1400 cal to maintain my weight. He then wanted to do a test for my kidneys. But by this time, his three strikes were up. I lost so much hope in doctors that I didn’t see anyone else for over a year. And when I saw someone, she was a Nurse Practitioner. She had me diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis in less than five minutes of greeting me, and not only did she order the bloodwork for that, she also went through every aspect of the blood results and wrote notes and recommended books and the Paleo diet. Christina Yazzi is her name. She actually knows what she is talking about. Wish I had heard about her before I wasted so much money with this guy.

After seeing 3 endocrinologists in the past month, finally I met Dr. Ahmad. My friend referred me to visit his Salt Lake City office. The staff and the doctor himself was so humble and friendly. He helped me with my issue and now I feel perfectly fine with my thyroid issue. Dr. Ahmad has all trust with thyroid issues and I’d definitely recommend him.

Wow, experience with Dr. Shahzad Ahmad was so satisfying! I visited his Salt Lake City office in the past week. The staff was super friendly, and doctor spent enough time with me. First, he listened to me carefully and then he explained my situation, diagnosed it, and answered all of my questions. He didn’t take my insurance but it was well worth paying out of pocket. I can’t thank him enough for treating my issue in the best way possible. Thank God, I am very happy to have this doctor now.

I recently found this doctor on Intermountain Healthcare to be rated as top Endocrinologist, based in Lehi, Utah. Until now I’ve had a very positive experience so far and this doctor clearly knows what he is talking about as he’s great at explaining what I didn’t understand. His treatment approach is balanced and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an endocrinologist in the area. Very happy so far!

I have been to a number of endocrinologist in Lehi and honestly, he was found to be the best of all. Very professional and knows how to make his patients feel comfortable. My health is being improved day by day and it’s only because of his constant care and follow-ups. I wish he was my first and only doctor.

Very thankful to have Dr. Shahzad Ahmad as my endocrinologist. He’s been very supportive and understanding of the challenges that I’ve been facing since the past 4 years with my type 2 diabetes.
