Dr. Shahzad Ihsan Mian, MD

Excellent doctor but always always always running late. Visits always involve very long waits. I hear other patients complaining of 1 and 1/2 hour waits. Very tiring. Day used up waiting.

Did both of my eyes perfectly. NO problems at all

When I didn't want to accept one of the options for treatment, he argued with me and said that unless I experience severe pain, there is no need for him to see me in the future. He argued with me when I wanted the other option and was condescending in the way he addressed me and dismissed me. The rest of his staff is very nice. I am a 70 year old woman who can get around just fine and make my own medical decisions and NO ONE deserves to be spoken to in this manner.

Dr. Mian removed cataracts from both of my eyes, one week apart. Because of high levels of astigmatism, he recommended a aser procedure and toric lenses. Torics are challenging to implant because great precision is needed to center them properly and adjust the angle precisely. After the first procedure, I walked out of the Kellogg Center with clarity in my right eye that I have to call miraculous. The second involved a more typical recovery period of a few days for corneal inflammation to subside. Both eyes have no measurable residual astigmatism, a superb outcome. Only needed a $6 pair of +2.00 reading glasses for the first time in my adult life.

I was refered to Dr. Main and I am so glad I found him. My vision was all over the place and I kept trying to get new glasses to fix the problem He diagnosed me with a rare, progressive corneal disease called Salzman's Nodular Dystrophy; got me on a treatment plan and now my vision is stable and eyes my eyes are comfortable. Really thankful I found him.

We had wonderful care from Dr. Mian. My son sustained a severe eye injury and was rushed to U of M hospital. He was under the care of Dr. Mian. He was awesome, very informative, caring, explained his care and was very willing to answer any questions I or my son had. He helped him regain his full eye site. My son has been a patient of his for 3 years as we go back for annual check ups. I would recommend Dr. Mian, he is an excellent doctor.

My pediatric ophthalmologist sent me to him and he wasn't nice at all and was arguing with me. I mean I'm a kid. Chill out. All I wanted him to do was fix me. I refuse to go back which is sad for him :( Though I did love my tech and resident
