Dr. Shai Y Shinhar, MD

I went there to get my son checked who has a dislocated nasal bone. He prescribed tests (hearing test, sleep apnea test) and pushed for surgery for everything from sleep apnea to adenoids. I ended up paying a whopping $1000 out of pocket when I have a good insurance. I almost had to run out of the place because they were pushing surgery so much. Will never go back. By the way, he did not have sleep apnea, their own tests proved that.

Overall the doctor is good, but the staff let me tell you, the worst experience of my life! VERY RUDE, it’s sad to say my 5 year old has better manners then this office, from the lady in the front to the office manager, they do not care. Gave me the run around, 3-4 times already all within a week of my daughters sugery. Unless the doctor gets new staff, he’s already loosing business, I refuse to go back and get treated like crap from the poor educated staff he has. Oh and let’s not mention my first time there I waited over 2 hours just to see the doctor!

I did not give him a rating because he is more interested in making money from the insurance companies. My daughter was with him for over 3 years, on recommendation. It was far too long! She was prescribed antibotics and prednoisolone every time she was congested. One or both were not necessary and they've wrecked her GI track. Worried parents take what doctors say as the holy grail when their kids are sick! One year into seeing him, he recommended that her ear be drained by putting in tubes and removal of her adenoid and we gladly approved the surgery because it would alleviate her snoring and congestion at night. All had been well until year 3, when she came in for a (late) follow-up. He obviously had not checked her record (or the surgery records were not in her file) because after 2 years of this initial surgery he recommended surgery again to insert tubes and removal of her adenoids. Both my daughter and I, at once, reminded him that the adenoids were removed, but he… insisted we were wrong! He doesn't care about his patients, he cares about his wallet! Find another doctor!

Dr shai is a great doctor. He really cares for his patiences. My daughter has been suffering from headache for many years I have went from doctor to doctor and no one really found the reall problem. But dr shinhar did and took care of my baby girl.. Dr shinhar did her surgery for her sinses. I highly recommend this doctor to everyone. Thanks dr shinhar...
