Shaiful Islam, MD, FACC

Dr. Shaiful Islam is a cardiologist and nuclear medicine specialist with nearly five decades of experience caring for patients with heart conditions. He earned his medical degree from Stanley H Kaplan Education Center and completed his residency training at both Dhaka Medical College Hospital and New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Islam furthered his expertise through fellowship training at Cooney Island Hospital and The New York Presbyterian Hospital in 2001, where he specialized in advanced cardiovascular care. He is board-certified as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and speaks both Bengali and English.

Dr. Islam practices at WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital with locations throughout Pennsylvania, including Chambersburg, Waynesboro, and Shippensburg. His clinical focus includes treating heart rhythm disorders, chest pain, and heart blockages. He performs diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms to monitor heart activity, echocardiograms to …evaluate heart function, and specialized contrast imaging studies to provide detailed views of cardiac structures.
