Dr. Shalini Bichala

Very thorough, inspires confidence, answers questions and caring is evident.

Like many other reviewers have noted, Dr. Bichala has a very imperious manner. It might be because she is just this way, or it might be because she needs to be more authoritative to make up for the fact that she has a second-rate medical education. Either way, the result is someone who will treat you like an idiot child, literally berating you for being two minutes late for your appointment despite having made YOU wait 25 minutes in the exam room. And if you mention problems you're having, she'll constantly talk over you even before you're done talking. And if she doesn't know something, then she'll simply assert that it doesn't exist or isn't true. Doctors, especially GPs, are notoriously behind on the latest research, but she speaks down to you as if her limited knowledge is law. Simply the worst doctor I have ever had in all my fifty years.

Rude,made my daughter feel bad for being overweight and she is 25 ,the weight gain is caused by a tumor and she wanted her to see a weightloss specialist. Staff was rude as well.

TERRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER. Very rude. Argued with me and then told me she cannot help me anymore. She is not very nice, and doesn’t like to admit when she’s wrong. I do not recommend this rude doctor to my worst enemy.

This Dr. has been my GP for a couple of years now. I recently went to see her because I was suffering. I researched the subject and found the latest recommendations for my condition. She did not like that I was trying to advocate for myself. I wasn't disagreeing with her, I was only trying to have a dialogue which I had thoroughly researched. She became very defensive, as if I was attempting to challenge her expertise or her authority. Shortly into the conversation she point blank told me if I didn't like her recommendations I should find another GP. I wasn't disagreeing with her, and I did attempt her recommendations-they just didn't work. I was looking for alternatives and some compassion. I found none, just defensiveness. I am so disappointed with this interaction. This is not how healthcare is supposed to be.

I’ve had diabetes symptoms for over 2 years, that have only been getting worse over time. She does one test says I’m prediabetic and blames on and me and my weight, I was in perfect health and weighed 110 before going on abilify, there’s lawsuits reguarding it causing diabetes and insulin resitance. She won’t do any further test says diet and exercise when I was fainting and passing out. She had the nerve to say no I wasn’t..., well now I’m walking into walls too. Nobody else can diagnose me but my primary care who refuses to do further tests, or believe it’s not me. Well after my last appointment yesterday I have to go find another doctor. Yet again..., meanwhile I’m getting worse to the point I can’t hold food in. I just want some treatment please.

Dr. Bichala is an intelligent doctor with an excellent bedside manner. She listens, is collaborative and makes sure you understand what is going on and what the options are for you.
