Where to begin, ** BEWARE, EQUIPMENT IS NOT CLEANED BETWEEN PATIENTS *** the office is filthy, waiting area has stains all over the carpet, holes in the wall that were attempted to be covered by wallpaper. The one person reception staff is abrupt when you set your appointment clearly very flustered as she is overwhelmed with her responsibilities. Rather than providing a new patient packet prior to your appointment you are given a massive package to fill out in the office after you are provided ridiculous instructions on even how to find the location of this office. The person that sets your appointment is the same rude person that will then abruptly hand off a clipboard with a massive amount of forms to complete just before barking "you will have to provide a credit card to be seen today" Not the friendliest first impression. Nonetheless, the revolving door begins there. The doctor arrives late running through the rest of the patients attempting to complete their mounds of… paperwork. This provider has mult-specialties and he knows it, sadly he does not listen to why you are there. I came as a patient with a rare diagnosis requesting a consultation on two areas impacted by my diagnosis. Dr. Kelman is very "old school" his office appears to have older equipment although he makes it a point to insist he is an expert in his field he "knows the answer to your problem". Sadly, he does not listen, as he was trying to re-diagnose my rare diagnosis as a Neurologist which is not why I consulted with him. I explained repeatedly this was not why I was there for Dr. Kelman's Neurological opinion as I had a competant Neurologist. He refused to hear me. Throughout my visit Dr. Kelman uses words like "sweetie" when speaking to me as a patient, this is not okay. I explained when being brought in and out of his office to waiting area as a revolving door to complete on test or another as he repeatedly addressed Neurological issues, not the issues I came for. I took a "flashing light test" with a piece of equipment which was never wiped down after I took the test for the next person. There were no protective barriers for cleanliness. When the results did not yield what the doctor wanted to see as I explained I lose my vision with migraines as I was experiencing, the doctor then accused me of all but faking my results. He was more focused on my rare neurological diagnosis than the reason I came to him for my consultation. The icing on the entire cake was... just before I leave this doctor places his hand on my cheek. Enough said.. A minus star for this guy. A letter to the medical board is warranted. After experiencing "double vision" for several months, my regular Ophthalmologist ordered an Ultrasound on my two neck arteries, that revealed they were less than 50% blocked and considered in the normal range by the Cardiologist. My regular Ophthalmologist then referred me to Dr. Kelman for a second opinion. I was able to get a quick appointment. Dr. Kelman performed several eye tests and ordered a sensitive blood test that revealed I had Myasthenia Gravis. During my followup appointment, he did some more tests, noticed a big improvement and couldn't find any visual evidence of the disease. Therefore, he didn't recommend any treatments or referral to a Neurologist. I am very confident of his vast knowledge and diagnosis. I consider him to be the "Dr. Ben Carson" of the eye vision health care field and highly recommend him to anyone with eye problems.

I was experiencing eye black out's and was refereed to him , he didn't take long to understand my issue and got my on a plan that has saved my vision and improved my health in other areas !

I recently went to two doctors who thought I had pseudotumor celebri and/ or glaucoma. I was then referred to Dr. Kelman. He was very knowledgeable, explained everything to me and counseled me. He was very professyand you could tell he actually cared! It turns out the previous diagnosis were not accurate and he sat with me to show me the results and explained with me. I’m grateful for seeing him!

Dr. Kelman's diagnosis of my condition was brilliant. I was in his office being treated 2 weeks before the large clinics would have been able to schedule me.

About 14 years ago I was suffering from eyestrain and double vision which was progressively getting worse. Dr. Kelman correctly diagnosed me with congenital 4th nerve palsy. He did not pressure me to have surgery right away, but to wait. I decided to have the procedure about 4 years after my initial diagnosis. It was more painful than I expected and I did not recover as quickly as he expected. He called me everyday to see how I was doing until I felt better. I slowly got better, I have no more eyestrain, and I see much better. He is gifted in his craft, great bedside manner, and trustworthy. He also treated my mother for Horner's syndrome with equal care. Thanks Dr. Kelman for taking care of my mother and me!

My wait was rather long, however I saw my regular ophthalmologist on Friday and Dr Kelman saw me that Monday. He was extremely kind and explained everything and really put my mind at ease about my condition and was very thorough in answering my questions about my diagnosis. I would definitely refer him to my friends and family a+++ thank you Dr. Kelman

We were referred to Dr. Kelman, the fourth doctor since my husband's vision started clouding in the center. Kelman looked at previous tests and notes from other doctors, was incredibly attentive and engaged. He said "something isn't making sense." After doing his own tests, asking a lot more questions and asking my husband to describe what he saw in both the dark and bright, he spotted the problem that others had missed. Something plausible, fixable and something that isn't part of standard testing. We were so thrilled we both gave him big long hugs. What a relief after a lot of worry, doing MRI's thinking my husband might be partially blind for the duration. Not so. We both got emotional in the car, so relieved we had found such a brilliant physician. We can't wait to see him again for a follow-up. Time, money, all well spent. And he's funny too! : )

I was very impressed and ever so grateful to Dr. Kelman for his quick and accurate diagnosis of ischemic optic neuropathy in my left eye on my first visit. He immediately contacted a fellow specialist and arranged for me to be seen and treated the same morning. The treatment stopped the progression of the eyesight loss.In follow up visits with Dr. Kelman, he always encouraged me to have faith and hope that this condition would reverse itself in 6 - 10 months. Sadly, it did not, but Dr. Kelman was always very hopeful and caring about me, as well as my eyesight.One of the best characteristics of Dr. Kelman's personality is his sense of humor - - he has a great bedside manner, and cares about his patients. Even though the wait for your appointment may be a little longer than youd like - - because he is spending as much time with patients as they need - he is well worth the wait and will give you the same personal attention. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

After seeing Dr. Kelman for 1 1/2 years. He had difficulty figuring out the cause of my double vision. He was aware of my history which included hypo-thyroid. Finally, it occured to him my problem was in fact related to my thyroid. Dr. Kelman discussed surgery and like any concernedpatient, I wanted to know the time, risks, and pain associated with surgery.Dr. Kelman did not respond to any of myquestions. He then said that he would not be doing the surgery on me; due to "my personality" he felt it would not work out... I was shocked that after all this time, and money he a "professional" decided to "fire" me because he viewed my questions perhaps as questioning his expertise. I kept asking for more details he declined only to say that there are several qualified doctors in the area could could do the surgery.I do not recommend Dr. Kelamn. Instead of viewing patients as medical issues, Dr. Kelman seems to view them as personal threats.
