Dr. Shalu Bansal, MD

In my opinion, Dr. Bansal is still a great doctor, but when a doctor allows staff to be, obviously, incompetent and unprofessional it lessens her competence to the patient. Dr. Bansal has one particular nurse that appears to stick out like a sore thumb. He always has an excuse why something can't be done or why he can't do it. Once, I asked him to show me documentation of why it couldn't be done, and of course, my question was ignored. I later asked him not to address me by my first name, yet, he does.I use DukeMyChart to communicate with my doctors but instead of hearing from the doctor, this staff member responds, unprofessionally, like always. I'm looking for a different PCP, because, in my opinion, doctors should be held accountable for their staff, also.

She is not a patient advocate. Instead of fighting for her patients she will fight with them. I have seen doctors that are so much more compassionate and understanding. I don’t understand how she has such high ratings when she came across as very rude and distant. She does not listen. She is much more concerned over her lisence and privileges than doing what is right for the patient. As a healthcare provider myself, I cannot believe the lack of bedside manner and patient advocacy. If you have health concerns and need optimal care, I ask you to look elsewhere. She is a waste of time and money.
