Dr. Shamir Geller, MD

I cannot praise Dr. Geller enough for his thoughtfulness to his patients. Many times the doctor will wait until your next scheduled visit to provide you the update of your test results. Only, in urgent cases, will you be contacted immediately. He had his staff schedule a telehealth visit to discuss the result as soon as the results were made available in the patient portal. Regardless whether it was to provide good or bad news; the fact that the wait was made shorter; provided a sense of security that Dr. Geller was up to date with his patients test results. Someone who has not experienced being in suspense and not knowing if their life could be taking a turn down a scary road; will never understand the significance of having your doctor call you the minute he has information to share. Even the telehealth visit was comfortable; he was not in rush, he was in a private setting, he answered all our questions, discussed both possibilities (good and bad); treatment plans for both,… and also hopeful thoughts which one always needs and welcomes. I write this review voluntarily because there is no other way for me to share just how satisfied we are with our experience at MSK with Dr. Geller. Before having my first visit with Dr. Geller, I searched to see if he had any reviews, and found reviews about MSK in general and many patients complaining about the wait time. Short answer: Dr. Geller takes his time with each patient. I will wait patiently to have a doctor be patient with me. I truly recommend Dr. Shamir Geller!!

Dr. Geller is the type of doctor that takes his time, answers all your questions, very thorough when explaining the treatment plan and uses terms which are understandable for the patient to understand. He shows compassion and empathy. He is not dismissive and provides emotional comfort. Because of his way of practicing, I now understand, why the wait was longer than expected. On my next visit, I will go prepared to wait a little longer because the wait is worth it. I have been to doctors that make you feel like your are just another insurance patient and end up having to search for another doctor. His staff is extremely friendly. I never have an issue reaching his assistant on the phone. The office is cleaned and neat. I would recommend Dr. Geller to those that are in need of a doctor that will provide them with excellent bed side manners, communication, and treatment, in return, you just have to be patient if you have to wait longer than expected on the date of your… appointment.
