Dr. Shang I Brian Jiang, MD

Dr. Jiang has performed many Mohs surgeries on me, most of them on my face. The scaring has been minimal. Each time my biopsies come back positive I get alot of anxiety about having surgery. The nurses and Dr. Jiang are very reassuring and answer all my questions before each surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Jiang for any Mohs surgeries and repairs afterwards.

I had squamous cell carcinoma on my forehead, which necessitated MOHs surgery. Dr. Jiang did an AMAZING job. After the removal of the lesion, I had a very deep, quarter-sized hole. The suture line went from the bridge of my nose into my hairline. I never dreamed that I would have only a microscopic scar, that is barely visible. Dr. Jiang is a true master of his trade. It looks like I will be returning soon for another MOHs surgery. I am not worried nor frightened because I know I will be in good hands.

I was referred to Dr. Jiang by my dermatologist who diagnosed basal cell carcinoma on my forehead. My dermatologist is in LA and said that Dr. Jiang comes to LA every 7 weeks to perform Mohs surgeries and he recommended him, there were other Mohs surgeons in the area but he said Dr. Jiang was his top choice. I was so incredibly anxious after watching endless you-tube videos on Mohs surgeries. He had lots of patients that day and I suppose they do so many of these procedures it is routine to them but trumatizing for me. He told me that the fina scar would be three times the diameter of the incision, he explained that it has to be this way to avoid pulling. It took two passes to gain clear margins, after the surgery I had ten stitches in my head and was very depressed about how nasty it looked. I had the stitches removed after less than a week and a two weeks post surgery the incision looks really very good, I think that after a month it will be barely noticable. I have been… applying Mederma cream to help. I can highly recommend this surgeon though it seems odd that you don't get to meet him before and never see him again but I suppose thats how they do it. More, or rather any information, before the procecure about the procedure would have done wonders to aleveiate stress.
