Dr. Shannon Mc Coy Gilmore, MD

I can’t say enough good things about this physician. She is kind, respectful and thorough. She doesn’t miss a thing. She didn’t make me feel intimidated when I asked her questions about my body. She went over my bloodwork results and other tests and explained results . She even asked me if I had any other questions. I did not feel rushed or hurried .She explained the purpose of the medication she put me on and how to take it. I thought the staff was pleasant and efficient. I like this doctor more than any other doctor that I have.

Dr. Gilmore has transformed my life. She is a genius with supreme knowledge of hormones. She has been an advocate of good health and wellness long before it was fashionable. I recommend anyone with hormone issues, see her and follow her recommendations to the letter. While correcting hormone issues take time, make sure to follow up and report. You will get fine tuned by her. Note- your body has all kinds of hormones. They all effect your life. She can balance them all.

Dr Gilmore is very knowledgeable about women’s health and hormones. She has got me on a good plan and I feel better than ever. Easy to talk to.

I’m 50 Years old and needing help with hormonal issues. I met Dr Gilmore less than a minute and she has zero sympathy! She was a waste of my 2 hour drive and $75 fee I paid up front! I do not recommend this doctor if you are needing medical advice! She is in it for the money

I have used her 4 times now to try and conceive. She is recommended as one of the best for same sex couples and decided to go with her based on that and not her lack of bedside manner. This however, was the last straw. She will not answer questions you have and look at you as if you are stupid or wasting her time. She is extremely rude and does not take the time to calmly explain procedures to you or ensure that you are good to go. On the last IUI I had she came in while I’m on the table, rudely told me she didn’t like the sperm count, and that she didn’t want to do the procedure. And that she thought we were using a different donor. Even though she knew we had made the decision to stick to the same donor. She walked out and never came back into the room. I will never use her or recommend her for anyone else. She is unprofessional, impolite, not compassionate, and doesn’t truly care about her patients concerns or feelings when they are at their most vulnerable. I feel as if it is all a… paycheck for her and nothing more.

OMG!!! I never write reviews . I don’t care if my experience was good or bad but my experience at this Doctors office was so horrific I had to write a review.. Over half the office staff is rude and unprofessional. Poor customer service . Worst office visit of my entire life. Would never step foot better yet drive close to that place. Dr. Gilmore is rude , uncaring and unprofessional. I’ll spare the details of my horrible experience . Would never ever refer this doctor to any family, friends or strangers.

It sad to say that I did not read the reviews on this doctor before visiting her. Do not allow her to perform surgery on you, she will end up doing other procedures on you. Better yet, do not go to this doctor. If you have any complaints, report her to the medical board.

I was a patient of Dr. Shannon Gilmore for years, and every thing was peachy, until I started having issues. I was constantly in her office with bladder infections and horrible pains in my lower abdomen. She made it out like I was making things up! After about the fifth visit she said "I think you have endometriosis". I said ok...I asked what that meant and she looked me dead in the face and said nothing. She gave me zero information that day and I left and goggled it. I opted for surgery to figure out what was going on, and I NEVER saw this woman not before or after my surgery in the hospital. After my surgery she was extremely unpleasant/rude to my mother and that was the last straw. I went into her office a week later for my results (which I had to pay a co-pay just to speak to her). She put me on lupron depot which put you in a menopausal like state. She never prescribed me the "add-back" pill which you are supposed to take with the injection. I found this out and called her… office, her nurse refused to talk to me about the add back pill and I was miserable for 4 months due to this. After that I went to Dr. Gallespy III and he has been amazing. I highly recommend him over her any day.

I’ve contacted the Alabama State Medical Board about her. If you care about your mental and physical well-being, find another doctor. Both of my daughters, and myself WERE patients of SHANNON GILMORE. She told my daughter “I’m not the fat one here” and “that she doesn’t need to get her tubes tied because something might happen to her 2 children”, among other VERY hateful things. She put me on a medication and at my next visit asked me who in the world would put me on such a medication! VERY DISORGANIZED, HATEFUL, and REFUSES TO LET YOU TALK!!! Sorry for the long review. I promise I have plenty more complaints about her, but I made it as short as possible! I wish it would let me post without giving her 1 star because she doesn’t even deserve that!

Jumps to conclusions, without all the information, as a Dr. and in simple conversation. I don't trust her. In my experience with Dr. Shannon Gilmore, I do consider her interaction and treatment to be harmful, damaging, and more than anything else, extremely unprofessional. I greatly regret meeting her and trusting in her, for many reasons. This is only my own personal experience and opinion. Thank you for viewing.
