Dr. Shannon Evelyn Kohake, MD

Dr Kohake may be the best doctor I've ever seen- and I'm pretty critical and untrusting of doctors! She takes as much time as I need and was the only neurologist to come up with an accurate diagnosis for my mysterious seizure disorder. I would recommend her to anyone!

I first met Dr. Kohake in the emergency room at Research Hospital. My son had a stroke and Dr. Kohake took really good care of him. She is still taking care of him. I am truly blessed that God gave us such a wonderful person who takes the time to talk to you and explain to you the things you don't understand. It's rare these days to find a doctor that takes time with their patients. She is a keeper!!!

I have been seeing Dr. Kohake for a seizure disorder for about 2 years now. I'd been to other neurologists before her and was blown away by the difference when I stepped into Research Neurology. The staff were professional, efficient, and most of all- genuinely nice people. The wait in the waiting room and in the patient rooms has always been minimal, too. Dr. Kohake takes as much time as I need to answer my questions, probe to find answers, and explain things in a way that I can understand without making me feel talked down to. While other doctors barely learned my name before throwing their hands up and deciding my condition was a mystery, Dr. Kohake asked enough questions and LISTENED to me enough to diagnose me in one visit. I'd recommend this often again and again!
