Dr. Shannon Lynn Sugarman, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Sugarman since 2009. She is knowledgeable, respectful, courteous and caring. She has seen me through 2 pregnancies. She always strives to get to the root of any issue and never makes you feel awkward or embarrassed. She always wants to know what you think. If I could give her more stars, I would.

Dr. Sugarman is wonderful. Every time she comes into the room, she's 100% present. She looks at you and listens to your concerns. I've seen other doctors, trying to find a solution to my medical issues but refuse to see anyone else now. She takes the time to address concerns and explains exactly what to expect with surgery, medication, etc. I highly recommend Dr. Sugarman. She's amazing and I'm so thankful to have her as my gynecologist.

Doctor Sugarman performed my two C-sections for both of my boys, she is a wonderful Doctor, I had no bruises, no problems of any kind, recovery was very quick. The first surgery was an emergency and she calm me down with her tone, she gave me confidence I look for her the second time, she always listen to all my questions and was very professional in every way. I highly recommend her.

Do NOT allow Dr. Sugarman to perform the circumcision on your baby boy! She is careless and sloppy. My son has to have surgery under general anesthesia to correct her "work". At 6 months old this will be very painful for him. When I contacted her about the issue she sent me a generic and thoughtless response and took no responsibility for her actions. She completely ignored subsequent emails. The doctor we took our son to to have his circumcision corrected told us that they see 3 to 4 cases A DAY with the same issue as my son and he said that the majority of these baby boys are being circumsized at Northside Hospital. So, clearly there is little regard for what they are doing there. They are just slicing and dicing without any regard for the fact that these babies will have to suffer through more pain to correct what could have SO EASILY been done correctly the first time. If you plan to have your baby at Northside hire your own surgeon to perform your baby's circumcision… and absolutely DO NOT let Dr. Sugarman do it!!!
