Dr. Shannon Heath Trowell, MD

The front desk ladies were snobby, and cared more about their looks than their patients. I was seen by a male nurse being a female, which made me extremely uncomfortable. During my exam, I had 3 ladies in there, which is uncalled for. The "doctor" didn't even know what the swab was called...she called it a broom. Then proceeded with the plastic speculum, and opened and closed it several times before getting it right, which hurt. Then she opened the door, with me naked, and yelled down the hall if anyone knew how to use the "broom". Are you kidding me? Afterwards, she proceeded to tell me that I had an oddly inflamed cervix, and asked if I had been checked for STD's. I have been checked...I went to a OBGYN who knows what she is doing, and said that my cervix was normal for a girl on birth control. I bled several days after my pap, and I have had sever cramps every since. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! They are not experienced enough, and do not deserve a license to practice.

The patient's first line of interaction is generally the person on the telephone i.e., the receptionist. I called as a potential new patient and to my surprise, was told that my insurance was not accepted by the office. Had I not asked to please confirm that information, Christy would have given me incorrect information. Once she returned to the call, she indicated that in fact my insurance was accepted. No apology just continued shortness and rudeness. Christy ruined the possible opportunity for me to be seen by Dr. Trowell. She really needs some training in what customer/patient services looks like. I later called to cancel because I don't believe in paying for poor service. I hated to do that because the doctors at this office may have provided great service. I never got the chance to find out. I hope the doctors at this office read these reviews in an effort to pay closer attention to the staff they hire.

Office visit was fantastic. The wait was less than I'm used to, the service was awesome. I felt like he listened to me and asked all the right questions to get to a diagnosis. Never felt like he was just going to push meds. Will be a patient here a long time.

Beautiful office but got the impression the practice cares more about looks than the patients. Also seems very unorganized. Seems like all they want to do is cosmetic work whether you need it or not. I've never been to a family practice that advertises and pushes you to purchase make-up and skin care products. Would not recommend to anyone.

Office staff needs to be more responsible. Either they or the nurses dont call in the medication when they are suppose to. When you call after hours no one calls you back. I love the doctors but they need to get new office staff.

This office, practice and doctor are great! The office is beautiful and Dr Heath is very personable and has great bedside manner. He took the time to explain what my labs meant and what my condition meant. Go to this practice!
