Summary
My grandparents were influential in my decision to work with older adults. I witnessed the support they received and wondered about the lack of support for others. For over nine years, I have worked with patients with chronic illnesses. The stress experienced by patients, family, and caregivers when managing health and/or mental health issues can be overwhelming.
I aim to provide the listening ear that is needed. My desire is to focus on working with the older adult population so that they can live their best life. I work to challenge misconceptions about counseling and make it a common practice among this age group.
