Dr. Shari Tara Leavitt

I had not been to the dentist in a very long time and was pretty terrified. Dr. Leavitt and her staff were incredibly welcoming and kind and didn’t make me feel judged at all. Dr. Leavitt took the time to review my x-rays with me, and explained everything she was doing before and during. She made me feel really involved with my care plan and I appreciated it so much. I highly recommend this dental practice!

Don't get pulled into this lying dentist. She said I have 6 cavities. I went to my family dentist as a second opinion to find out that I do not have any cavities. Go to a trustworthy dentist!

I went in to Dr. Leavitt, because I was having sensitivity in my back tooth. I am a student away from home, and my dentist is wonderful, but I needed immediate attention. Dr. Leavitt was nearby and accepted my insurance plan. I arrived promptly to my appointment, but was not seen until over 30 minutes PAST my appointment time. Once taken back, I had an x-ray taken. The bite wing must have had some numbing ointment on it by accident, because my lip started to tingle and soon lost feeling. When I told the assistant about this, she laughed and then walked away. I think this speaks for the cleanliness in this office-- there is old numbing ointment on inappropriate equipment! Do they just lay their stuff down anywhere? Once Dr. Leavitt stepped in, she was friendly and seemed concerned. She looked at the x-ray and said she saw "a huge cavity under an existing filling" and that I would most likely needed a root canal. I was extremely terrified and decided to wait to have the work done once I… was home after finals. After that appointment, I switched toothpastes and the sensitivity vanished. No cavity, no root canal. I went to my hometown dentist to confirm this. Dr. Leavitt was ready to give me a root canal over sensitive caused by a whitening toothpaste. Dr. Leavitt is money hungry and does not care about the patient's well-being. Do not trust her "professional advice".

I wanted to comment on the outstanding customer service I receive every time I visit my dental office. Dr. Shari Leavittâ??s office is located at 39th and Market Streets in Philadelphia. Her staff is always very polite and knowledgeable about their products and they seem interested in helping find ways to meet your needs, rather than just being focused on making a quick buck. I wanted to personally thank Dr. Leavitt for her kindness and her professionalism. She has put together a great team that makes patients feel respected and valued.
