Summary
About Me
I grew up in Jericho, New York. I majored in psychology at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York and then attended medical school at the State University of New York in Syracuse, New York. I was happy to leave the cold and snow of upstate New York and continue my training in Northern California. I spent the next six years in San Francisco doing my internal medicine internship and residency at Pacific Medical Center, followed by my radiology residency and ultrasound fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
I have had the privilege of practicing at Kaiser Permanente since 1985. I enjoy the collegiate atmosphere of the group practice we have here at The Permanente Medical Group. We are able to do the right exam for each of our patients without a "gatekeeper" second guessing our medical decisions. We also have the opportunity to sub specialize and emphasize our individual strengths here in the diagnostic imaging department.
Although I miss the direct patient …care I had in internal medicine, I love the diagnostic challenges I face every day in radiology. My clinical interests are in ultrasound and CT, as well as general diagnostic radiology. I have been the Associate Chief of Ultrasound at Walnut Creek and the Assistant Chief of Radiology and the Chairperson for the Imaging Utilization Committee at Martinez before the merger of the Martinez and Walnut Creek Medical Centers into the Diablo Service Area.
I am a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Alameda - Contra Costa Medical Association.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my two children; Adam, who is currently in high school and Laura, who is majoring in journalism at the University of Arizona. I also enjoy reading, skiing, hiking, and traveling.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews
Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.
Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.
Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
