Dr. Sharon J Acosta, MD

My 3 children went to her office, each one with proven issues. One of my daughters needed a referral for an orthopedist due to a problem with one of her foot and she denied the referral because she says the girl doesnt have any problem with it (she is totally wrong) My other daughter has hemorroids and Acosta insisted those wrinkles are normal ( I am no doctor and I know these are hemorroids) my son needs a referral for neurologist for problems with adhd and learning disabilities plus some symptoms of hipotonia and she dared to say he doesnt have anything and denied referral. She is not an specialist, very poor skills, not interested and lousy. I am returning to see another doctor because she is not credible at all.

Dr. Acosta is the director of this location and I was very disappointment with her service. She is easily annoyed when asking questions and even tried lecturing us. She is an out-dated doctor who needs some up-to-date training on new research and professional development. I would even suggest needs improvement on communication with adults. She acted very condensending during our consult. Very disappointed, would not recommend.

Doctor interaction with the baby is ok. She's handles the baby rough yes, but I assumed that's how all doctors do. I Asked her questions regarding feeding and frequency, baby constipation and her answers were general not specific to the concerns I had. So I had to google my questions for more appropriate answers. After taking her advice for my 4 month baby, regarding feeding etc my baby wound up in ER 3 times, because I couldn't get an immediate appointment with this office. But I was lucky the baby had to go ER as I feel they cared for the baby more urgently than their facilities would have given conditions the baby had. It's not all bad, but I am no longer comfortable putting my baby health in their hands seeing how much things was wrong after following their guidance. This is just my experience - maybe others had better experiences.

Very rough with my baby and rushed through the appointment.
