Dr. Carmody rates highly with me. We went to Mercy Hospital, after my son fell in the basement of our home when he tripped. He suffered a laceration of the upper lip.Three critical emergencies showed up just as we were getting ready to stitch him up, and so we had to wait until those patients were stabilized and referred to other physicians for further treatment. This meant we went from 1A to nearly 4A by the time Dr. Carmody got to see my child.My baby was given an Atropine/Ketamine combination sedative to perform the stitches, as the injury was of the upper lip--he was out of it in seconds, the dosage was verified for everything, and Dr. Carmody did a beautiful job. My son was kept under obvservation for an hour, and we finally left around 5:30A after arriving at 11P the night before.So, was it a long night? Yes. Did I sleep? Not a wink. Was I certain my son was in excellent hands? Absolutely.He'll get his stitches out in four to five days--I am grateful to Dr. Carmody and… all of the staff at Mercy Hospital.
