The Plainview office was newly established, clean, and had a friendly staff. However, Dr. Sharon Essner made me and my son uncomfortable. She never greeted, looked or acknowledged me during each of our 3 visits, but I overlooked it, hoping she'd be kind and take good care of my son. Unfortunately, during our last visit, she handled my son roughly while flossing, causing his head to shake violently. Afterwards, her assistant seemed shocked as well. After we got home and the effects of the laughing gas had worn off, my son mentioned that his gums hurt, and I saw a slight cut on his gums, likely caused by Dr. Essner's flossing. I did not research reviews about Dr. Sharon Essner beforehand, but after this incident, I found a similar negative review posted on yelp from her previous location at The Smile Station in Jericho. I hope my review helps other parents make an informed decision when selecting a pediatric dentist for their child near the Plainview area.

She’s not a friendly dentist. We had couple appointments and she never greet us, smile, talk or make eye contact. Her hygienist is very nice and caring.

i took my son to see Dr.Essner my son loved her she is so amazing i highly recommend her

I have been bringing my kids to Dr Essner since they were babies and I we have always received the kindest and most loving attention along with great dental care. The office is like Disneyland and the kids love it. I highly recommend her and The Smile Station.
