I arrived at the Gardendale, AL location today alone. There were no clearly marked business signs indoors or outdoors at the location. When I opened the door I climbed a set of stairs and looked to my right. There was a door with Dr. Sharon Waltz name on it. I opened it and stepped into what felt like a broom closet. There were 3 chairs, a table, and a wire shelf with a printer, microwave, and various clutter on the shelves. There was a small room at the end of the room with an old couch and an old side table inside it. I was greeted by a lady in a summer dress. She was with what I presumed to be a client. She said, "Be right with you" dismissively and shut the door to the small room inside the "broom closet." I sat, uncomfortably, on one of the chairs as she spoke to the client before me. You could hear everything being said through the door, so I tried to distract myself. I waited 15 minutes and then they exited the small room. Nothing was said to me at all. She walked the client to… the bathroom located outside, then she same back in and shut the door. She then walked back to the small room and said, "okay follow me" I sat down on the couch and she asked for my last name only, then said she left my paperwork in her car. She left and I again sat there awkwardly, as she still has not introduced herself or said anything. When she came back she had papers that were wet from getting rained on and asked me to fill them out in the outside room where the table was that I told you about. They were decent questions, very generalized, nothing in depth. I started filling them in, I got about three questions in and then her next appointment arrived. (It seems like they are scheduling them at 15 min intervals.) I felt very uncomfortable and felt rushed by the lady to quickly fill them out, with the other client present in the room. Then I hurried into the smaller room where we sat in silence for ten minutes while she wrote a bunch of stuff on papers. Then she had me sign a piece of paper saying I had been there an hour when I had only been there 15 minutes! Then, once she got me to sign everything, she says, "Okay so the psychologist will see you next time, I think I'll pair you with Samantha (Whoever Samantha is???)" Then she says, "What's your normal copay?" I'm kind of in shock so I was like, "So... I'm not seeing a Dr. today?" "Oh no, today is just for paperwork." I was alone, in a strange place. I drove an hour to get there for 15 minutes of paperwork??? I was scared and wasn't sure what to do. I still never even got the ladies name. I don't know if this woman is Dr. Sharon Waltz or not or if there even is a Dr. Waltz. I paid and got out of there as quick as I could. She ran my card on her phone which worried me even more. She's got all my personal info... So I went home and talked to my family and they said I should call back and ask why I got charged a copay when I didn't see a doctor and these people wont answer the phone anymore! She said I'd see a Dr. in Cullman but never gave me info on an appointment. I will follow up this review once I find out more information.

Dr. Waltz and her assistant are easy to work with and a great team. They are so helpful!

I have tried 2x to get my child in to see Dr. Waltz and each time they had to reschedule on me. The first time was an hour before the appointment because Doctor waltz child was sick( reasonable) but the 2nd time was when I have arrived to my appointment 30mins early and no one was there at the garden dale location which the office gave off a creepy vibe because her "office" was the size of a closet which made me and my child uncomfortable. When I called the receptionist she had said there was a miscommunication that one of her patients rescheduled and basically forgot about us and left to go to her scheduled 6month eye exam which was scheduled at 12:45 in Pelham knowing our appointment was schedule for 12:30. I find it very rude and unprofessional that I schedule for these appointments and the DOCTOR never follows through especially knowing my child is having to miss school for her to be seen by Dr.waltz. I understand things happen but it is not ok for my child to keep missing… school.
