Dr. Sharon Antonette Watkins, DO

Has very poor bedside manner. Talks down to the patients as if they’re children. Doesn’t seem caring, and has an inflated ego. I do not recommend!!!

One star only because zero is not an option. She stomps in after 7 hours of waiting. Said I was not emergent enough then laughed at me, argued about what is acute and chronic pain. She is the worst doctor I have ever dealt with and I’m a nurse so I have dealt with many. I will not ever return to WVU ER again unless I know she is gone. She ordered no tests and simply told me to wait for referrals that are a month out. If you see her stomp into a room immediately request another doctor or just leave because she will be of no help to you and make you feel that you should have never came to the ER and that you are crazy for feeling that your symptoms bad enough for treatment. She is a perfect example of why people don’t go to the doctor before it’s too late. ( I ended up going to another ER turns out I was most definitely and emergent case and could have stroked out or been permanently blind if left untreated.)

She was awful. Mean, rude, raised her voice at me, and spoke over me. Leaned down at me with huge, angry eyes when I asked for clarification. Started spouting off diagnoses (that she didn’t test for) when I asked for clarification. I seriously don’t understand how she has a job. If you meet her in the ER, please ask for another doctor and take care of yourself.

I went to the ER and Dr. Watkins was the doctor on call and she started off making me feel like I was not sick enough to be long in the ER that they are specialist that take care of my problems, I have had two weeks of diarrhea not able to hold anything on my stomach , I was having chest pain‘s my blood pressure was 160/105 I was there for five hours, And my blood pressure never changed much and it was never addressed except that it was probably my pain that was causing it! I ask for something for pain like Toradol, which is not a opiate and was denied and was lectured about these symptoms not being what the ER was for! She is Very rude and condescending and decided to send me home with bp that was 160/105 with a heart rate between 80 and 90!! This is my third and last experience with her!! She made me feel like a little child that had done something horrible and was very below her!! What are you doing Mon General! She sent me home with very high bp! I could’ve had a… stroke!!! She is a rude condescending Bully!!!

I was in this evening. Dr. Watkins was the rudest Dr. I have ever met. I was disgusted by her lack of compassion for being an ER doctor. I honestly can’t believe you have such a Dr. on your floor treating sick people. If I ever come back for an ER visit I will be sure to ask if she is on call, and if so I will walk right out instead of ever having to deal with her again. I am not sure I will return after tonight though that’s how bad I was treated by her.

She treated me as if I was pain seeking, as in trying to find any reason to get strong pain medicine. She had less than lack luster bedside performance and I would highly recommend when she walks into your room that you ask for someone else that moment.

Have not quite encountered a doctor with such a lack of bedside manor. So rude, lacked empathy. If you have her for your doctor please ask for someone else

Dr. Watkins is the rudest person that I've ever encountered at Mon General. If as a patient you get her, do yourself a favor and ask for another doctor.

Dr. Watkins was one of the best doctors that I have seen in the emergency room and Mon General.
