Dr. Shashidhar Kusuma, MD

Dr. Kusuma is an excellent plastic surgeon, and a highly ethical physician. I went to see Dr. Kusuma after an unsuccessful neck and lower face lift performed by another plastic surgeon in the area. I don’t know what was done to my face by the first plastic surgeon, although I can deduce what happened, but I looked totally different, and for the worse. Dr. Kusuma was able to give me my face back and a much younger and more beautiful one at that. He performed a full-face lift, upper and lower lid surgeries and neck surgery. I look much younger, and my features were not changed. I wasn’t pumped up with fillers either. I have my face back. I feel beautiful. I will forever be indebted to Dr. Kusuma (at Suria Plastic Surgery.) I went through a learning experience with the first physician and with Dr. Kusuma. I would like to share what I learned with those that might be shopping for a plastic surgeon. I have been able to compare two plastic surgeons and how they operate. I hope… that what I learned will be useful to other people. The items listed below compare the two surgeons. 1. Dr. Kusuma will not ask you to sign endless documents stating that no matter what happens, he is not responsible for the result. 2. Dr. Kusuma will not use general anesthesia for your surgery. 3. Dr. Kusuma films the complete surgery, and he will give you any films you desire to have. So, you actually know what went on during the surgery. 4. Dr. Kusuma will perform the complete surgery himself. He will not allow a “surgical assistant” who has never attended college to close any incisions, or to perform any procedure. 5. After the surgery, every time you visit Dr. Kusuma, photos are taken. He meticulously compares your progress. 6. Dr. Kusuma will not let you go until he deems the final product to be perfect. He will follow through with various measures to achieve total perfection. 7. If you have any problems, it is easy to make an appointment. You will not be asked to wait weeks before you can see him. 8. Dr. Kusuma is very approachable. You will never feel fearful when presenting a concern. If you want to know what kind of physician Dr. Kusuma is, go to YouTube, and view the many videos he has presented there. In addition, the personnel at Dr. Kusuma’s office is professional, friendly, and down-to-earth. You will feel at home immediately.

This man completely destroyed my beautiful eyes. Every time I see myself in the mirror I am so angry at what was done to me. He scarred me for life, deformed my eyes. I HIGHLY do NOT recommend! Stay away!!

I write this review with great sadness. If anyone wanted a good outcome when I went to Dr. Kusuma it was me. Three months ago I went to Dr. Kusuma for the following procedures; Lower Facelift, Necklift, Upper Eyelids, Co2 laser and under eye fillers. Out of the 5 procedures I requested three went well. My neck does look great and the CO2 laser went well too. My lower facelift I am still unsure about as it is too soon to really tell. It seems to be going ok, but I will update when I am closer to six months. Everything surrounding my eyes has been a complete disaster. First, the upper eyelid surgery. Dr. Kusuma said that my scars would be completely hidden behind the creases of my eyes. False. They go all the way up to my eyebrows. They are absolutely NOT hidden behind the creases as he led me to believe. Second, I started developing webbing in my eyes due to this surgery. To top it off, my left eye has a bulge of extra skin sagging down. Three oculoplastic surgeons said they have… never seen incisions like mine. They are supposed to be hidden behind the crease and not all the way up to the brow. So now I have scars to my eyebrows, webbing and a sagging bulge in my left eye. I have tried to address these concerns with Dr. Kusuma to which he has been completely unreceptive. I asked him to examine my eyes when I realized I was getting webbing and he flat out told me NO. He told me I focused too much on the little details and that he was not going to entertain that. He proceeded to yell at me on several follow up visits to the point that his staff gave me hugs when I stepped out of the room. I am now under the care of a very highly recognized oculoplastic surgeon. I have gotten 1 treatment of 5FU injections to control the webbing and to soften the horrendous scars I am now left with. This has been extremely traumatizing and stressful, scary and expensive. Also, the under eye fillers he added looked so horrendous that I had to have them completely dissolved. He was also not empathetic when I told him I wanted them dissolved. He told me again I focus on the details too much and was just not nice about it. I looked like I had been punched in the face for almost three months. There went $2000 to the garbage can. At least that was reversible. I have had zero support from Dr. Kusuma regarding my eyes. Thank GOD for his amazing staff of women he works with. He has had zero empathy for me. I am in shock at this attitude. He seems to think he is a GOD that does not make mistakes. Knowing how upset I am over my eyes, he brought in a doctor in training to my last appointment and all he did was gloat over his work on me. I was left there sitting speechless as this man knows the concerns I still have over my eyes. My left eye is deformed. I am sick and tired of dealing with this doctor. At least, I am feeling much better that I am now in the right hands of an oculoplastic facial surgeon. I hope you think about it very carefully if you decide to have your eyes touched by Dr. Kusuma. Go to a specialist in this area. The fear I have been in for the last 6 weeks or so with this webbing issue and the horrendous scars has been pretty intense. I also realize this has not been the same experience for everyone. This was MY experience and I would hate for anyone else to have to go through this. Maybe if there are no complications and you have no complaints about his work he will be nice to you. Also, if you do your research carefully you will find I am not the first person that has had a botched eyelid surgery by him. I remember seeing that review, but I chose to ignore it based on all of the positive reviews he had. BIGGEST mistake of my life.

I can not say enough good things about Dr Kusuma and his staff.Starting with Linda the sales director to Maria the surgical nurse was amazing.Jane,Tanya also amazing. Maureen the anesthesiologist, so caring. Everyone treated me like family. Also in the team was Jenny in the Boca office who removed my stitches yesterday.I cant forget Tim who drove me home after the surgery. If you are looking for an experienced plastic surgeon,I recommend Dr Kusuma. He and the staff met all my expectations.

My age 60. Last year spent several thousand dollars on Art Facial and CO2 laser performed by Dr. Kusuma. Then and now, months later I have seen absolutely no improvement. I pay for results! Please do your due diligence in selecting a provider, I thought I did-NOT.

Doctor Suria answers your questions and concerns before a treatment. I found him to be very precise and skilled . He is kind ,thoughtful an makes you feel comfortable with your selection of treatments. The staff is also great ,was a good experience all around . Will choose him again for my facial treatment.

Dr. Kusuma is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever known. He takes the time to listen, educate you and he does an exceptional work. I had a growth in my head. He barely cut any hair and there is no visable scar. I was scared and nervous but he calmed me down. I would recommend Dr. Kusuma to anyone & everyone.

My recent experience with Dr. Kusuma and office staff was excellent. I highly recommend him and plan to use his service again in the future!
