DR Shuan is a great doctor and the nurses are awesome, but the clerical staff kinda bites. I have spoken to 3 different people in the clerical and they are pretty rude and insensitive to your needs. they put off an air that say's i need them they don't need me.

I went in for just a routine checkup and casually mentioned something that was bothering me a little. He had some concerns, and when the blood work results came in, it turns out he nailed it. So glad he did not dismiss my comment, as I made it casually. It wasn't life or death, but definitely a quality of life problem that is easily treated, and could lead to more serious problems down the road. He cares about his patients' quality of life, and is proactive and resourceful in addressing what other doctors might dismiss as trivial. At the same time, with others in my family, I have noticed that he does not make a big deal out of every little symptom and try to scare you into aggressive measures, which can involve undesirable side effects and also can be expensive if you have a high deductible plan. His judgment has always been excellent, from my perspective as a non-clinician.

I can't give a review of Dr. Kretzschmar because both times I have scheduled an appointment I had to see his Physicians Assistant. One month ago I went to see the doctor with symptoms of a gallstone. Pain in my upper abdomen that radiated to my back and right shoulder. The PA diagnosed it as acid reflux and then diverticulitis and prescribed antibiotics and over the counter antacids. Long story short, I had my gallbladder removed Friday after 1 month of on and off suffering. The surgeon stated that my gallbladder had completely shut down. There was a nearly 1 inch stone lodged in the bile duct. You will not see me again as I intend to find a doctor that listens to the patient. He's young and up to date on medical issues. A DO so he looks at things in a more well rounded way. I'm not nuts about his NP but prefer to see him. He will stand still and listen until you are done. My kind of Doctor.
