Dr. Shauna Desai Shah, MD

Dr. Shah is an excellent pediatric and adult psychiatrist. I have referred many patients to her and can say without hesitation that she is prompt, responsive, professional, and compassionate. Several of my patients have thanked me for referring them to her and said they never felt “heard” until their visit with Dr. Shah. Two specific patients I referred to her, are doing their best (mentally, emotionally, etc) following the switch to Dr. Shah. I highly recommend as a provider and as a parent.

She really listens with an empathetic heart. I feel supported by her and like she genuinely wants to help me.

I had been seeing this doctor for quite some time and she continued to barely recognize me at each appointment, ask questions about things in my life that happened a year or more ago, and just overall seemed like she could care less about what goes on with her patients. I understand she is busy, but every single appointment was the same, with her seeming to remember absolutely nothing about me, and rushing through the appointment. She makes you feel like you are inconveniencing her by coming in for the appointments, would probably just prescribe any medication to a patient who suggested they needed it just to get the appointment over with, and generally has a cold personality. Most times, she didn’t even lift her eyes from her computer. God forbid I were to be given the wrong medication, I don’t think she would have even taken the time to talk me through it or notice.
