Dr. Shawn Edward Cotton, MD

I used to be a huge fan of Dr. Cotton. However, he has let me and my family down. He's never in the office. His staff is rude! We'll be leaving this office. Dr. Cotton displayed some alarming behaviors when we tried to get answers and help. He's nowhere as great as people think he is.

I wish everyone on this earth could have the kind of Physician that Dr. Cotton is. He saved my life when he recognized a vague symptom I was displaying as a very serious condition. His prompt actions and concern for me got me the operation I needed and without question saved my life. I trust this man with my life and now my whole family is lucky to be under his care. He is warm, giving and humorous. I consider him a friend. His entire staff, including his RNs, LPNs, PAs and NPs, are unfailingly polite, prompt and caring. I have been in his care for over 25 years, and as a medical professional myself I give this man and his crew at EA Family practice my highest rating of 5 stars. I would give them higher but 5 is all they allow.

Dr. Cotton is an exceptional doctor. He is well informed on new medical information. He takes time with his patients.

Dr. Cotton has always taken his time to listen to what is going on, not just kinda tune in like some other doctors I have seen do over the years. I have a chronic condition that I need help managing and at times it has felt like it is taking me over. At those times Dr. Cotton and his staff have been willing to help listen and if they are not able to have the answer right then-they will help you till they do have the answer or can refer you in the right direction. He has been my doctor for over 20 years and has never let me down- even my husband and son see him. He is a true family physician-that helps guide and take care of the whole person not just the symptom.

This office fails miserably in its treatment of patients. It is not the doctors who are a problem but the office .Staff is unfriendly , phone calls are not returned and messages or recommendations are delivered inadequately and poorly. With better leadership and a stronger emphasis on the patients rather then on the needs of the staff this could be a great office. I hope somebody within recognizes these shortcomings and train their offuce staff better in their manners and delivery , or fire the whole lot and start fresh with a new team.

I waited over 1 hour. This man shows it all on his facial expressions. He is a horrible person...very condescending

Dr. Cotton is by far the best doctor I have ever had, and I have had many doctors of all kinds over my long life. He is extremely knowledgeable, and honest; he gives you all the information about any conditions or tests you may have. I was blessed enough to have him take over my parents care during their last years, and his treatment of them was superb --a comfort to them and our family. When you are his patient he remembers you and any treatments and conditions you may have. He listens when you talk, and he takes the time to thoroughly answer any questions you may have. He is not one of these doctors who grabs your chart when he comes in the door to remind himself who you are, give you a once over and then quickly direct you to the check-out. I always get his opinions on any diagnosis and treatment from a specialist who often think only of his area of medicine and disregard your overall quality of my life. I recommend him most highly.

horrible office. they make you wait 4-5 days for a sick visit (this has happened to me several times). switching doctors.

Dr. Cotton is comes across very knowledgeable. He takes time with his patients and is interested in their long term health. Best doctor I have ever had. When I had a test I was worried about, he called me with the results.
