Dr. Shay Byron Dean, MD

A word of caution for anyone who does not want to have a bad cosmetic procedure or surgery. The person you will be dealing with primarily is Brenda at the front desk, and basically she touches everything to do with you and your safety and care. She is a complete mess and either doesn’t understand her job or doesn’t care about Dr. Dean’s patients. My seasoned opinion is that Brenda’s reckless behavior and complete disregard for patient care and safety is a direct danger to Dr. Dean’s patients as she handles all aspects. Two instances of her reckless disregard for patient safety and care could have had me dead or in the ER if I didn’t stand up for myself.

Dr Dean, is hands down my favorite Dr. After a mastectomy due to cancer, Dr Dean reconstructed my right breast from a flat pancake to a healthy looking size breast which matches the size of my left one - 36c - which he lifted. I'm still amazed of what he managed to accomplish. Not only is his work exceptional, he's also one of those rare doctors with whom you feel total comfort. He's very friendly and supportive. He transfers medical information in a very clear and concise manner compared to the Drs whom make you reach for a dictionary to decipher what exactly was said. And he certainly does not have that weird superior stance many Drs waddle around with. He's super cool, he's current, he's a bit of a reconstruction rock star and I am beyond grateful he is my Dr.

I cannot heap enough words of praise and recommendation for Dr. Dean and his staff. I had suffered from neck and back pain, making this surgery necessary. After much reluctance (knowing this would be my first and last surgery of its kind), my concerns were heard and addressed with empathy, compassion and deep knowledge, allowing me to make an informed decision. Dr. Dean is a remarkably gifted surgeon, whose intuitive approach with patients, doesn't go unnoticed. The staff is equally compassionate, kind, and responsive. Thank you Dr. Dean and Staff for your gifted works.

My Botox treatment is by far the best I have ever had!! I'm not frozen or unbalanced. I look refreshed and rested. So impressed with the doctor, his staff, and the RESULTS!! I'll never get Botox anywhere else again!

Dr. Shay Dean is a gem in the city of LA, which is over-saturated with so many plastic surgeons. He is truly an amazing Doctor who is terrific at what he does, with fantastic bedside manners. If you want to go to the best than I highly recommend Dr. Shay Dean.

The Breast surgery was awesome, I went from a ddd to a c-cup! Great! Problem my scaring is awful around the Breast seam and my nipple! I’ve gone back three times and I get lied! I’m still in pain and it’s been one and half year, not good! Judge for yourself!

Breast augmentation is something I have always wanted to pursue for myself but never had the courage to go through with it for a number of different reasons. I am a 43 year old working mom of two teenage children. I live a fairly active lifestyle with health and fitness as a high priority. After 20 years of back and forth, finally, with my husband’s blessing, I began my hunt for a plastic surgeon. I knew exactly what “look” I wanted. I went to two different surgeons... however it was only until I visited Dr. Dean that I felt confident and assured that he would make my vision my new reality; and most importantly, the way in which I wanted to see myself as I live out the second half of my life. It did not take long for him to “figure me out.” He listened intently, asked questions and gently gave me his professional opinion. He advised me that when it comes to the size of the implant, ultimately, I would need to trust him and the human nature of his skills at the operating table.… Entrusting everything in his hands was the best decision I made and as a result of that, I am 150% pleased with my results! Post operation, he was just as consistent and careful and took on what I would describe as a conservative approach to my healing process which gave me yet another level of comfort and ease. As for his wonderful staff, they were excellent. Professional, caring, and very kind. They too were able to provide very useful advice from start to finish. Brenda at the office would call me regularly to check in on my recovery process and was always there to answer any questions I had and still have! I would highly highly recommend anyone and everyone to Dr Dean and his team and would go through this process a million times over again.

Dr. Dean is one of the best plastic surgeons in the southern California area. He has performed complex breast reconstruction surgery post radiation therapy, liposuction and tummy tuck scar revisio on me. The results are amazing and I can not be more grateful for the difference he has made in my life. This surgeon is calm, comforting, competent, compationate, confident, sincere and genuinely love his job and his patients. His office staff are very nice, courteous, professional and helpful. I highly recommend this surgeon to anyone seeking reconstructive plastic surgery. Thank you Dr. Dean for giving me hope and helping me feel beautiful again.

Words can not express the gratitude I feel for Dr. Shay Dean. He performed multiple procedures on my, liposuction, tummy tuck scar revision and breast reconstruction. My experience with Dr. Dean has been fantastic. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014; therefore, after my chemo I had to get a breast reduction to make them even. Dr. Dean had to reconstruct my breast due to an awful breast reduction results. After my surgery, I had a totally different experience and results. I had no pain recovering from surgery and had no complications during my healing process. I highly recommend Dr. Dean because his is professional and has surgeon vocation.
