Dr. Shazia Malik, MD

I can't actually believe any of these positive reviews could be legitimate. Dr. Shazia Malik arrived FOUR HOURS late for a scheduled appointment. By that time I clearly was no longer available as I have children and a life outside of medical appointments. I had called the office during this long wait to ask if she was ever coming, but the call was answered by someone in another country who could not understand or help. The next business day I called the office to inform them Shazia no-showed my appointment and I was completely out of medications. Despite calling multiple more times relaying this message, Shazia never cared to refill my medications. Fast forward to a week later. I get a text at 6pm on a Friday night that I have an apppointment at 9am the next morning with Shazia. An appointment no one asked me if I was available for (I wasn't). I didn't attend this appointment I never consented to, but I did receive a text the next day 1.5 hours late that Shazia had finally decided… to join the call. I'm in this field personally and Shazia should be sued for medical malpractice quite frankly. Not refilling your patients' medications because YOU couldn't show up for your own appointments is severely neglectful considering the withdrawal symptoms that missing many of these medications cause. Not to mention how little respect for others it shows when you're 4 HOURS late to an appointment. No apology, no explanation, nothing. Oh, and the one time I had an in person appointment here, the office made me take a drug test. I've never seen this done in my 13 years working in this field. They make you feel subhuman, like a drug seeker and a drug abuser. STEER CLEAR. There are many online psychiatry websites now that do telehealth with normal providers you can get an appointment with within a month.

HORRIBLE. All of the negative reviews are correct. Waited several hours for her to arrive at the office on several occasions. Waited. One time close to three hours to talk to her via computer while she was in India. All she did was prescribe meds that I didn’t need. At one time she had me on 15 different meds. And good luck getting refills. It was work phones not answered, calls not returned,voice mail full not accepting messages. My primary doctor took me off all of the meds she prescribed for me. I now see a new doctor who spends time with me listens asks questions and has me on one medication. I feel great. Seriously Dr. Malik SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE MEDICINE!!! Her license needs to be suspended. PLEASE do not schedule an appointment with her. You will, I guarantee you, regret it if you do.

Literally ended up in the ER after 4 appointments that she never even called or followed up on. Should not be allowed to practice mental health care.

Staff is incapable of doing their job. They don’t cAll prescriptions in and the patient goes through Withdrawals!!!! It’s unbelievably mean!

Saw this so-called doctor a couple years. Always had to wait about 3 hrs. Sometimes I'd be waiting and she'd call saying she wouldn't be able to come in, and we were all rescheduled! Sometimes she was in India and had a session with her on Skype! I found her Indian accent hard to understand. DON'T GO TO SEE HER--BAD NEWS!!

I have been a patient of Dr Malik for a couple of years. Not only has neither she or her NP properly treated me or given me the correct medications when they have been told that what they are doing is not working, Tele visits were spent 90%% of the visit listening to the doctor fumble around and cursing her computer trying to enter things in it spending my treatment time not actually treating me but trying to figure out how to work her computer. Visits have been cancelled and she calls anyway and then even double bills you for missed visits. When contacting the office staff about updating the insurance information and the incorrect billing of those visits numerous times it is not done. When calling again about those issues I am told they are not seeing those calls in my record, was also told that they don’t document every phone call because they are too busy. I let them know that this is part of the patients medical record and that these are obviously more important of a call than just… asking their address etc. That these phone calls need to be documented, she did not care. I was told I have to write can not even speak to their office manager Peg to try and make an argument as to why these charges are to be removed. I have also over the course of being with this doctor have had to call over and over to have my medication actually sent to the pharmacy sometimes forcing me to be off my meds for a couple of weeks. This is the most pathetic excuse for a doctor as well as office staff. They are obviously all about the all mighty dollar with their fraudulent billing and inattentiveness to their patients. Beware, stay far, far away from this doctor and anyone associated with this practice.

My husband is bi polar . His appointments have been canceled three times now , I find that extremely inappropriate! And unprofessional. In a rare occasion when she keeps her dates, it’s on a computer! How does a doctor see their body movements, foot tapping or any other movements that should be observed by a professional ? If a patient cancels or doesn’t show up their charged. She doesn’t show up and we’re told their was a problem at home. We have problems too but we keep our appointments and we show up in person not on FaceTime

Prepare yourself to wait often for hours, I have even had my appointments canceled while I was in the waiting room. I seldom see her in person, she is often out of the country or working from another location. 2 hours is average. Shazia will try to put me on medication I had horrible side effects from in the past. And if another staff member in her office prescribes you a medication, she will want to take it away from you. I feel like after 4 years of coming to see her, she does not even know me. Recently, the office started mandatory drug testing to “be sure you are taking your medication”. I felt like I was in a methadone clinic, there is not even a private bathroom in the office! Not do they give you a plastic bag or anything to use a bathroom down a public hallway, through crowded waiting room with a cup of urine, only held with a paper towel. I was so embarrassed. I cried. I once had my car break down, and it had to be towed. I was charged for the visit. If I wait for… 3 hours and have to leave, I am charged for missed appointment. I would not recommend Dr. Shazia Malik. Because I need my medicine to function, I feel like I don’t have much choice. Getting in to see another doctor takes months. I feel very stuck. As I wait for hours, her staff eats and parties, chatting away as your hours slowly go by.

I am on medication that you can not just stop taking, she rescheduled my appointment and I was told if I need my meds to just call and they would get it, well I rescheduled and missed that appointment because of work. I called a week ago to get my meds filled and never heard anything so I called back they had no paperwork on me calling so they wrote it down and said it would be ready today and I have taken the last one today trying to spread it out, and now they have nobody to sign off on the prescription so I asked to talk to someone else and they sent me to someone else who just let the phone ring and ring and never answered. This is completely unprofessional and could literally cause a lot of problems to just up and quit taking medications that you have been taking for about 8 years maybe longer. Messing with chemicals in someone’s body and brain then just up and quit taking it is not good, and I am blaming this mostly on the office staff at Psych Care Consultants, because they… are miss placing and messing around and they have a way to get ahold of my doctor and arrange for the prescription to be signed this I know because it has been done several times before when she is out of town. This is crazy I have been going to this doctor since she took over for the other doctor and I was 8 years old, now I am 41.

You may have a wait, but she will listen and make time to solve issues
