Dr. Shazia Zia, MD

Dr Zia dismissed me from her practice for ABSOLUTELY no reason. No warning. No nothing. Apparently she has done this to others. For a mental health proffessional to do this is totally unacceptable and I am exploring my options. I don’t want to see this happen to any other person. I was in shock and felt very vulnerable and insecure afterwards. I had been seeing Dr Zia since 2017! It has upset my family as well which is unforgivable as my husband is terminal and this unfortunate decision of Dr Zia has affected him as well. I do not believe a Dr should be able to do that without the State of FL looking into it. And I am going to work on that as hard and long as I can. In the meantime, I would advise anyone to choose carefully as being dropped FOR NO REASON by a psychiatrist can cause a spike and trigger in your mental health that is lasting. It leaves a sadness but also anger. Dr Zia’s newest receptionist doesn’t help matters any. But I suppose Dr Zia will find that out in time. But… on a final note, it all comes down to M$NEY! If she’s not making any money on you, she will dismiss you. And although that might be somewhat understandable for a PCP to do with unruly patients, etc, it is NOT acceptable or reputable for a mental health doctor to do to a patient with mental illness that has done NOTHING to deserve it!

I saw the last person call her uncaring and I was immediately relieved that I wasn't the only one. BTW dont tell her you are agnostic she will spill Jesus all over you. Definitely the least empathetic doctor I have ever met. DO NOT GO TO HER IF YOU HAVE ANXIETY. She will not treat your anxiety correctly and the negative relationship you have with her only creates more anxiety the few days before your appointment. Such a terrible situation so many of her clients are in...Trust me, until last month, I was one of them!

She doesnt listen to you she wont try different medications to see what one works better she want you to say oh im doing good even though your not wont prescribe the medications that you want or will help you very short visits and makes appointments for 3 months later prescribes antipsychotics for sleep even though their not recommended for sleep antidepressants and antipsychotics dont work for sleep i wouldnt recommend her as a pscychatrist my primary care doctor is much better

I think she doesn't res pond to her patients need's and isn't good. Narrow minded thinking she know's all.

I can't even give a review because when I called I got the secretary's answering machine message, I left a message with my name and number saying I was a new patient wanting to schedule an appointment. NO Call back. I called several more times and got the same answering machine message. No one answers the phone and no one calls back.

I called because my insurance said she was taking new patients. The woman that answered the phone was very rude and acted like I was interrupting her. She told me Dr Zia was not accepting new patients and to call the number on the back of my insurance card. It's too bad, I had high hopes.

Even though Dr. Zia is meant to be a medication adminstrator, she still takes time to talk with me. I would not care to see a doctor that throws medication at me without knowing a little about what makes me 'tick'. She spends several minutes talking with you. I wish I could spend at least a half hour with her to tell her about things important to me but I will take what I can get. I highly recommend her.

I was reluctant to meet with Dr. Zia and was skeptical that she'd be much help. But I was very surprised. She's kind, understanding and intelligent. I didn't feel rushed. She made me feel like I was important to her and she's been very thorough. She has also made me feel at ease at using medication.

I found Dr Zia to be very caring and understanding. I felt very comfortable and trust in her care.
