Dr. Shea O Ross, MD

I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Ross. I developed sudden, acute gastric symptoms about four months ago despite having no prior history of gastrointestinal issues. After seeing my primary care physician and receiving a referral to gastroenterology, I was hopeful that my symptoms would be taken seriously and properly evaluated. Unfortunately, that was not the case. During the appointment, Dr. Ross appeared to dismiss and minimize my concerns, even commenting that he experiences similar symptoms himself. This response felt inappropriate and unhelpful, as I was seeking a thorough medical evaluation to identify the cause of my symptoms. He also suggested that anxiety might be responsible, despite my having no current or past history of mental health concerns. I left the appointment feeling dismissed, disrespected, and disappointed by the lack of professionalism and attentiveness to my concerns. I would not recommend this provider based on my experience.

Ross was rude, sarcastic and smug. I have a history of cancer and had been having problems. He told me he did not want to perform the procedure even though my Oncologist referred me. My last colonoscopy was difficult due to restricted mobility and significant looping. He stared at the computer grinning and shaking his head stating sarcastically, " well for some reason that Dr did not put it in his report". Then looking at me he repeated, " he must have had a reason why he did not put it in the report"! Talked to me as if I were lying. I got a copy of the report and it was in there. Thank God I found out what an unprofessional rude person. No one should be treated this way!

Dr. Ross was very pleasant and explained everything in a thoughtful manner. The young woman who took my blood pressure was an angry person who looked as if her dog had died. I hadn't slept well the night before. I made the unfortunate mistake of asking her twice how her day was going...her reply "Is there any particular reason you've asked me that twice?" I said a prayer for her. The man at the front desk was fine. The woman who checked me out was fine.

My adult daughter went to see him because she had had pain and bloating after eating for quite a while to the point where she was hardly able to eat 300 calories a day and was losing weight. Dr. Ross came in, sat at his computer and starting typing while my daughter was explaining her problems. He then declared that she probably had IBS without even touching her or looking at her! He did run the standard GI tests which all came back normal so he told her that she was fine and to keep doing what she was doing!!! She was in pain every day and could hardly eat and HE DIDN'T GET IT!!!

Very prompt. No waiting at office or for procedure ! Extremely professional, calm speaking and concerned!

On one occasion called office and left message asking for an appointment for an acute abdominal pain. Did not receive call back for five (5) days after leaving a message on the second and third day. On second occassion called and left message requesting an appointment and never received a call back. If you have an acute gastro issue don't expect any reponse from this office.
