Dr. Shefaa Shahaat George, MD

She has a 5-star rating, because she cares about her patients, is aware of the corporate takeover of medicine, and attempts to get the best for me (and I assume other patients) in this profit motivated system. Kaiser, as insurer, has maximized a simple one-day treatment into a 2-year odyssey, costing the government at least 2-million dollars. Not her fault. Insurance companies make a 35% markup on costs. I was having the same issues with Anthem prior to switching to Kaiser. Doctors are no longer the deciders. Every phone call I made entails profits. In this system George has responded promptly to my medical needs. I feel sorry for the nightmare she and other doctors work in. Their education has been taken over by Pharma. In this system we get butchered. Dr. Robert Yoho’s first and 2nd books are the best guide—they are free on the internet. The alternative is to pay for a Natural Path.

I am part of Kaiser and luckily fell upon Dr. Sheffa George. She is always friendly and easy to talk to regardless of what issues came up. She appeared to spend a lot more time listening to many doctors and asking more questions than others as well. When it turned out I had breast cancer she immediately went into action and took the time to personally call me to tell me instead of receiving it in a test report. She also adjusted my meds to help side effects of cancer treatments & recommended me to two A+ surgeons who was amazing at a different Kaiser location. She showed great empathy and kindness. I feel I can say anything to Dr. George and she understands. I also had great difficulty getting Pap smears that were not painful but Dr. George really did everything possible to make sure the experience was actually comfortable for me for the first time in many years, even though she’s not a gynecologist. My partner is equally happy with Dr. George too. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr. George is the worst doctor I have ever been to! She is rude and does not listen to the patient. I asked for a referral to a gynecologist and she harassed me about why I wanted to go to one. When I explained that I have a very hard time with birth control and would be more comfortable at a gynecologist's office she continued to be rude and give me a hard time. I then asked to see a dermatologist and she once again gave me a hard time telling me i didn't understand the way things worked and refused to give me a referral and said she would prescribe me medication. When I explained I wanted to figure out why my skin was breaking out she still said no and stated the medication she would give me would cause dryness. I explained one of the reasons I wanted to see a dermatologist is because my skin is extremely dry and burns when I put anything on it, she told me "well I dont know what to tell you." I left her office nearly in tears. I will not be returning.

She's the top dog in the room and doesn't listen. She knows it all, and therefore makes mistakes in diagnosis and meds. Avoid- there are patient centric physicians out there and she's not one. I ended up in emergency room, and got referrals I needed from ED doctor instead of Dr Shahaat.

Came in for post menopausal bleeding. Dr. George spent a lot of time with me explaining the diagnosis process , and doing everything possible to make the process easier for me. It was clear and informative, and I feel that I am in good hands.

An amazing well knowledable physician.

I have been with this clinic for many years and have never had an issue with anyone. Until yesterday. I was seen by a female doctor there that I had never seen before. I have an eating disorder and have been working with my regular nurse practitioner (who I adore- very cool and willing to listen). She was out this week and I needed to do a weight check and EKG. I asked for a referral to an office that deals with eating disorders routinely. I was questioned about why I would need a new office. I just wanted the referral, not a lecture. She focused all her attention on the fact that I had a stable weigh in, losing only a pound. I am aware that I am in no physical danger currently: I just wanted a referral so I brought up new banner above the reception desk inviting one and all to "Be the Biggest Loser". Apparently there is a contest going on for a 50 dollar gift card. That's absolutely fine, I however need to go elsewhere. I thought that since there were so many years behind me there… that there would be a more friendly response. She actually *chuckled* and said it wasn't addressed to me. I am fully aware that not everyone knows how to deal with an eating disorder but when I revealed that I had gone off of a specific med because of weight gain, her response was to look at my midsection and say "I can see that". This appointment was a train-wreck. I would not be writing this here right now if I had received any support from the office manager/admin. I feel like I have no voice. She would not make an appointment to see me, did not want me to meet with this doc unless it was alone or with my NP. ( I wanted my husband present) Her mind was made up when she answered the phone. I was polite, articulate and respectful to all in the office. I have never been treated so incredibly shoddily as I was at this appointment. Unless you want to count the response from the administration who wanted to say that it may have been a miscommunication due to cultural differences. I have no idea what culture feels it's fine to be rude and insensitive, but I have never had an interaction with anyone else of Arabic decent that was horrid - well now I have, but I would not insult others with that assessment- it's rude and ignorant.
