Dr. Sheffey N Massey III, DO

Despite my mother showing all symptoms of a stroke, and Dr. Massey being told verbally by both myself and my mother that her mother, my grandmother, had a stroke just this past year with identical symptoms, after a CT scan, he sent her home, rather than transferring her to Regions Hospital where she could get appropriate care for the stroke she was obviously having. The first 48 hours after a stroke are the most critical and Dr. Massey could have cost my mother her life with his negligent practice. He also only listened to half of what my mother was telling him about her symptoms because her follow up MRI on Monday was only for her lower back to try to figure out the numbness and weakness in her right leg, he completely ignored her headache in her left temporal region and her weakness in numbness in her right arm, Obvious Signs Of A Stroke. Had my mother not brought all of this to the attention of the physician she saw on Monday the MRI of her head never would have been done and she… would have never received appropriate medical treatment for her STROKE.

His bedside manner is great but he COMPLETELY missed my diagnosis. When I went back to the ER I had to have emergency surgery to fix it.

He was very nice, polite and compassionate. I would go back.
