Meet Dr. Shelby Lapiad
Dr. Shelby Padua Lapiad was born in Camarillo and raised in Oxnard, where her family still resides. She obtained dual bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the UCLA School of Dentistry with high academic and clinical merit. She became a member of the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, which only accepts the top of the dental class. She then completed additional training at a one-year general practice dental residency (GPR) at the VA Long Beach Medical Center's Dental Clinic, where she was fortunate enough to provide dental care to many military veterans and active military personnel.
Being from the area, she has seen how Ventura County has improved over the years and is thrilled to lend her skills to the place she has always called “home.â€Â She loves being a dentist because it merges her desire to help others, …nurtures her artistic nature by creating beautiful smiles, and incorporates her strong scientific background. Seeing the wonderful results in patients’ healthy smiles is extremely rewarding. Patients are drawn to her caring demeanor and cheerful, friendly attitude. Patients also love that she has tiny hands with a gentle touch.Â
