Dr. Shelby Jean Thornton

"I went to Shelby Thornton for a checkup and medication refills. When she saw I was prescribed gabapentin (a mild non-addictive narcotic recently put on the 'controlled substances' list) she became angry and said "What are you taking that for ???". I told her my neurologist prescribed it for severe neck pain from bone spurs. She became angry and annoyed again and said "Fine, you'll have to take a urine drug test if you want refills". I had no problem with that since I am 67 years old and have never used non-prescribed drugs. I was shocked when the test came back positive for something called 'Morphine-3-Glucuronide'. Shelby immediately cancelled my prescription for gabapentin. I asked her to let me retake the urine test and she refused. I assumed the result was a mistake or a false positive but the more I thought about it I'm now convinced from her attitude that she tampered with my urine sample to produce the positive result so that she could cancel my prescription. I now live in… daily pain because she doesn't believe anyone should take narcotics for pain control. What she did to me was unethical and probably illegal and she should have her license to practice medicine revoked. I told her about foot pain I was having. She told me to lose weight and stand on a soup can !. She is rude, dismissive and disrespectful. There's a reason why she has so many negative reviews. She is a poor excuse for a 'health care provider'."
