Dr. Shelley R Visconte, PhD

Dr. Visconte was a Godsend for my daughter during debilitating anxiety during a custody battle. She was patient, kind, yet firm and helped my daughter do hard things and believe in herself. I will be forever grateful to her for her incredible ability to reach my child who had ALWAYS shut down for counselors.

She is unprofessional and goes outside her scope during custody evaluations and parenting coordination. She also makes sure if you state there was any previous abuse- she makes it clear to you that she doesn’t care. I do believe she works closely with a particular attorney. So if you have this particular attorney she will do everything to make sure you get everything out of the evals you want and the other person may get labeled as crazy. She’s truly a shame to the entire counseling and psychology profession.

Shelly claims to be a Clinical psychologist knowledgeable in Family Systems pathology that specializes in high conflict divorce. Come to find out she has very little knowledge of how to diagnose and treat high conflict divorce. She is incompetent in Her knowledge of attachment pathology, complex trauma, and family systems Pathology and fails to understand pathogenic parenting which leads to child psychological abuse. Psychological evaluations that should take 6-8 weeks have taken almost 1 year. Shelly is not receptive to higher level of care material being introduced to her by a concerned parent. She was going to charge me $2,500.00 extra to read a book I brought her by one of the most respected and knowledgeable Clinical psychologist Dr. Craig Childress called Foundations who specializes in high conflict divorces. She is extremely difficult to get in touch with to discuss matters at hand and you end up speaking to receptionists throughout your entire evaluation process.
