Dr. Shelley Jan Warr, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Shelley Warr for several years, until I final could not tolerate such poor care any longer. Shelley Warr and her support staff are the most disconnected group of medical professionals I have ever dealt with. They are robotic when collecting information from you and even if something seems off, they never ask questions about it? Dr. Warr herself seems very aloof when dealing with me as a patient. They all need to take a communications class in the worst way, some are downright rude. I have waited as much as 2 weeks to get a return call when I pose a question to her/ her office staff. I ignored this for years as changing doctors can be taxing. But recently had a health issue arise that lead me to see other doctors and specialist. During those visits I was reminded what good care is! I came to the conclusion that staying with this doctor was more taxing than changing.

The good news: Dr. Warr answers questions, listens and spends time with patients. Now the bad news: she answers questions, but doesn’t ask any. I was diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems and cholesterol issues, but she has yet to ask any questions (even follow-up) about any of my medications or problems I may (or might) have. She has never asked how I am doing or have I had any problems. I told her I take some supplements so she looked at my list and said “all you need is a multi vitamin. I asked her about my vitamin D (synthesized from sunlight), but because I have vitiligo I can’t get out in the sun. She then acknowledged that vitamin D was fine. She knew I had vitiligo, but had forgotten or doesn’t ever review my chart. I asked her about a few others like C and her response was “you get every thing in a good diet”. I asked her one more question and she went into her “good diet” reply and I said ...but I don’t have a good diet”. She have known (read my… chart) and known that I am trying to learn how to eat (avoiding sugar, salt, cholesterol and fats). Finally she said my supplements were fine. I expressed my concerns about a medicine she prescribed because of all the highly negative and scary physician statements—she said “all medications have side effects”: end of discussion. I recently read, on a respected medical site, that I should ask my doctor about about vitamin B12 supplements if a person is taking Metformin (a prescribed medicine for diabetes which knew I had) one of the vitamins she said I didn’t need to take! Does she not know or care?? Ado you see a pattern? Indifference? Lack of professionalism? Taking the quick and easy path (no questions, no discussions)?? Who knows? I know for certain that I need someone who pays attention, asks questions and **cares**.

Dr S. Warr is very warm. She listens to you. She is very professional. She is trustworthy.
