Dr. Shelly Marie Menolascino, MD

I did TMS with her for 2 years and initially things were fine, but then I got to find out that she is COMPLETELY UNFIT for a mental healthcare provider. She is very unorganized, which is a comment that others had also mentioned but that I had not given enough credit to, and then when she is faced with a stressful situation, she NEGLECTS her duties as a professional. She is terrible at taking any constructive feedback and gets INAPPROPRIATELY defensive when she is criticized by her patients. She LACKS BASIC problem-solving communication skills and that is WHOLLY NEGLIGENT in the care-giving industry that she is involved in. I regret ever having worked with her because she absolutely ruined my experience with TMS. There are plenty of other providers in the city, go anywhere else. Trust me, you don't want a power-tripping and unstable doctor as the person who's supposed to be "helping" you. Her behavior in a disagreement was utterly unprofessional and she should get help for herself… because I was disgusted by my final interactions with her.

As we were getting closer to starting the treatment, we spoke on the phone to schedule a session to go over the protocol. When I inquired with her what documents I would need from my prior physician, she became irate and belligerent, refusing to discus it over the phone. She yelled and hung up on me. She clearly has serious mental health issues that need to be addressed before attempting to treat patients. I cannot express the level of concern and fear I have for other people seeking help from this woman.

I can commend Dr Menolascino without any reservations. I trust that her treatment of me would apply to all others..she applies her great experience and the latest advances in medical knowledge, with a practical and caring manner.

I have seen numerous psychiatrists and specialists for over ten years. Dr. Menolascino and everyone at Washington Square TMS have been the most considerate and effective group I've ever worked with. She has always been honest and forthright about my condition, spending as much time as necessary to answer all my questions. They have fought diligently when necessary to make sure my insurance provider covered everything possible. Thanks to them I'm the healthiest I've ever been.

Dr. Menolascino has treated me for over 10 years. I have progressed very well under her care and have learned to have complete confidence in her judgement. She pursues a variety of treatment modes and does not simply rely on psycho-pharmacology. She is respectful, non-judgmental and compassionate.

Dr. Menoloscino is nothing short of brilliant. She will help you determine the best medicines for your condition and meticulously reconcile all your medications so that you are functioning at an optimal level. Her genetic testing was absolutely accurate and explained many health "mysteries". You can trust her completely, a rate gift these days.

Since 2009 I had been going in circles spending time and money on different doctors trying to find out what was wrong with me. My energy was continuing to dwindle, extreme brain fog and lack of motivation. Most doctors just wanted to give me an anti-depressant. After my second visit, she said she had a "hunch" and took some tests. It turned out I have MTHFR. She prescribed Deplin and it turned my life around. Dr. Menolascino is most giving of her time and the most compassionate doctor I have seen in the past 5 years. And, she solved my health issues. I couldn't be more grateful to have found her. I really feel that she has saved my life. There was no life left in me before her diagnosis. I highly recommend her!

I have been seeing Shelly on and off for at least 5 years...She was the Only Doctor who Diagnosed me Correctly and Finally put me on the right meds for my Bi-Polar issues.I was recommened to her and I have recommended others to her...AS far as I am concerned she is Brilliant, and Humorous, willing to really explain why she is prescribing certain meds vs just writing the Presecription and saying Bye see you in a month!! She is an unbelievable diagnostician and an incredibly compassionate and generous doctor. I couldn't give her high enough scores because she is over the top. She listens, prescribes thoughtfully, maintains contact, and works with therapists. She started out as an acupuncturist, then moved to psychiatry. Really smart doctor. The best.
