I had a very disappointing experience with Nurse Practitioner Shenelle K. Gooden. I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment, only to discover that the office had mistakenly canceled it. This error was entirely on their end, not mine. I politely asked the front desk if Ms. Gooden could spare just five minutes to see me so I could obtain a referral for a medically necessary test. We had traveled a long distance for this appointment, and there were no patients waiting in the office. We arrived around 3:00 PM, and her last scheduled appointment was not until 4:30 PM. Despite these circumstances, my request was refused without any empathy or attempt to help. What upset me most was not the scheduling mistake itself, but the complete lack of compassion and respect. As a patient seeking medical care, I expected understanding and professionalism. Instead, I felt as though I was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a human being in need of help. Healthcare providers should… understand that patients often travel long distances, take time off work, and place their trust in them. A small effort to correct an office mistake could have made a significant difference. Unfortunately, I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. In my opinion, healthcare providers should be held to a high standard of professionalism, compassion, and patient-centered care. Patients deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, not as a burden or an inconvenience. My experience left me feeling ignored, disrespected, and without the care I came seeking

It's always better to see a specialist doctor rather than a nurse. A nurse doesn't have the same level of training or expertise as a doctor, so for complex medical issues, seeing a nurse can sometimes feel like a waste of time.
