Dr. Sheri Maynard Puffer, MD

Long story short...She botched my birth, broke my baby's collarbone because she was VERY rushed so she could "fit in another", didn't puncture the sac well enough which cause my son to be born not breathing resulting in a NICU stay for the first week of his life. I had been a patient of Dr. Puffer for 15+ years and I CAN NOT believe she treated my birth like it didn't matter and was just a number to her. She NEVER came by after the birth to check on me, go over what happened, or to give me any updated on the status of my child. This occurred in May 2022 and it still makes me tear up when I think about how she treated my child and me. I strongly caution anyone using her. I still can not believe she treated me this way. I pray everyday that her pococurante attitude towards his birth trauma does not have any long term affects. SHE NEVER CAME TO CHECK ON ME/TALK TO ME AFTER A TRAUMATIC BIRTH!!! I think that speaks volumes about how she handled this birth.

Probably okay if you’re a model patient, but if you’re looking for any kind of accommodations, try elsewhere. My care here was abruptly terminated due to my PTSD requiring accommodations she was unwilling to provide. Wishing me luck ‘finding a provider who could better meet my needs’ would have been better accompanied by a referral, or at least a search term, but I suppose luck is something. If an ob/gyn doesn’t know where to find a provider who can deal with patients who have experienced trauma, then the 30 days of emergency care she offers as a consolation prize isn’t reassuring. The wait time was almost an hour, but they were moving as quickly as they could, since I had maybe three minutes to pull my sobs together before they came to get the room ready for the next patient. She DID make extra sure I knew she couldn’t help me by mailing me a paper copy of the patient termination announcement two weeks after the portal message, so points for communication.

Dr. Puffer is very informative, reassuring, and friendly. After my first visit with her, my fiance and I loved her! Her staff is nice and helpful. Wait time isn't long at all, and they are flexible with appointments. I would definitely recommend Dr. Puffer to anyone, especially first time moms who aren't familiar with the whole process, like me.

The new BC i was given wasnt covered at all, by my insurance. but i dont think she knew that.
