Dr. Sherry Esther Shuman, MD

Well after talking to a couple of my coworkers about how much Sherry helped them out. I told my mother about Sherry and after my mother waited two weeks for a referral from her primary doctor Sherry refused to see my mother with no explanation. All I can say is karma ...After watching someone I love with RA cant get any help just infuriates me but after seeing the comments about how rude she and her staff are maybe it's a good thing ....

Office staff is incompetent. Waited an hour in the waiting room after they forgot to check me in, then an hour in the clinic room after they forgot to tell the doctor I was here. Ok fine, annoying but things happen. Then Dr Shuman met with me for 30 mins. She was cold and quick to disregard anything I had to say, and had no interest in hearing my long health history leading up to why I was there to see her. It was the end of the day and she was clearly treating me like it was my fault I kept her late at work. All of my previous Rheum's have taken the time to understand what's been going on with me but she was quick to just send me off to a psychiatrist. Fast forward a month, I get 2 rude calls from her assistant very early in the morning when I am unavailable, without stating the reason for her call. I brush this off as 'she probably wants me to make an appointment'. It would have been nice if she could have taken the extra 5 seconds to say what it was in regards to. Then a rude email… comes through my online health portal from her assistant saying I need to call to discuss my medication. It would have been nice to hear from the actual DR about this. DO NOT GO TO Dr Shuman!! She clearly has better things to do and hands off everything to her assistants. I would take an extra minute to seek out a different Rheum.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shumans for about ten years. She is smart, friendly and very caring. She doesn’t hesitate to send you to another Dr if you need it. I have seen several rheumatologist before her and by far she is the best. You don’t wait more than a few minutes when you have an appt. if you are sick she will get you in for an appointment. Her office is easy to find and they offer valet parking. I don’t think anyone could find a better rheumatologist!

Dr. Shuman has been my primary for almost 20 years. She is very smart and a dynamite diagnostician! Dr. Shuman is a caring and considerate physician. I would not replace her.

She is an amazing physician who is very easy to talk to. Been a pt for 20 years. Have had a lot of bronchitis issues which she stays on top of. She is always has the most up to date knowledge of what tests I need for this 70 year old body. Highly recommend her

The office staff is horrible. Lost my records not once but twice. Then after 6 weeks of being told they didn't have my records I was told the doctor would not see me. Do not be bothered with these people.

I've been a patient over a year. She diagnosed me, and treated me. I have had amazing results. She treats me with respect, is kind, and truly listens. She is amazing

She is the most hostile And rudest person I have ever seen in 62 years. I pity older people that are crippled with arthritis and she is their doctor

I have enjoyed having her as my Primary Doctor. She has been attentive to my needs, and kept me in good health.

I would not recommend Dr. Shuman to anyone. She was rude, had no bedside manner, and treated my like I was making up my symptoms. I have an established rheumatologist but was just looking for a second opinion. She questioned everything I was on and told me I didn't need some of the drugs I was taking (even before seeing lab results, etc). I expect a lot out of doctors because I am in the medical field myself. She did not make me feel welcome at all. She made me feel like she was better than me. The office staff were nice but were too busy talking with each other than talking with me. Had labs drawn and never received a phone call about them, so I called and the nurse on the line said "you're fine." Will just stick with my current rheumy.
