Dr. Sheryl Lynn Hasegawa-Arthur, DO

SHOWED CONCERN, PRO-ACTIVE, SPENT AND TOOK TIME TO LISTEN

I was not going to write a review until I read all the negative reviews here and feel a need to post a rebuttal. I have always found Dr. Hasegawa to be invested in my health, friendly, and takes as much time as necessary to answer my questions and be sure my health issues have been addressed. She expects her patients to follow through with her plan of care and want to improve their health. She seems over scheduled at times so that she is feeling pressure, but I still don't wait longer than 15 minutes for her and she stays in my room until I am fully informed of my medical condition. I have also always foud her office staff to be friendly and helpful when in the office. However, I have to say I have had problems with getting things done by the staff. They have forgot to submit my prescription for refill; they lost paperwork on scheduling a test for me. I feel I have had to be more involved in follow up of my care than should be necessary to keep them on track. All that… said, I would highly recommend this medical practice for anyone who truly wants to improve their health.

Went to her for 3 months she was more concerned with my diagnosis of ADHD than the actual reason I came to her. Never looked me in the face nor did a physical exam everytime I needed an appointment it was a 3_6 week wait.. Would never recommend

I truly feel sorry for Dr. Hasegawa because my sister is the one who told me to go to her and even my sister said that ever since Dr. Hasegawa had her weight loss surgery she has been less concerned with the welling being of her patients and more concerned about their weight to the point of body shaming. My last appointment and I say last because I will never go to her again, her and the med student made me feel as if I was worthless as a person because I had gained weight. Now mind you she knows I have mental health problems and yet she proceeded to do a plank right in front of me and the med student. Unprofessional. I left their feeling like the scum of the earth all because I am over weight but was told my blood work was perfect. Don't make people feel like they are worthless just because they are FAT. Please start giving a crap about your patients and not about their weight because you have a problem with it.

Just wondering if it’s this doctor’s normal practice to fat shame her patients and ignorantly, incorrectly misrepresent the “connection” between weight and health. Please educate yourself by listening to Christy Harrison’s food psych podcast. And never forget, mental health is part of health too :) . Disclaimer: this ignorant woman is NOT my doctor but there are various claims of this from patients.

Too busy to see all her patients and always steered to her Physician Assistants unless you're willing to wait much longer. Twice received the wrong medication prescriptions by her assistants that were noted in my original medical records that were "stored" in "basement storage" and not listed on their computer. Missed diagnosed for strep throat on another occasion.

I love Dr. Hasegawa. She is very thorough and takes her time to go over everything with me. However, the staff can be very rude. Especially over the phone. When I have to call for something they act like I am really putting them out. Don't they understand without the patients they would have no job? Their bad attitude is also a reflection on Dr. Hasegawa. On hold waiting time is sometimes outrageous too. I've gotten tired of waiting and had to hang up. That is ridiculous. I've never been in the office at any given time where it's been so busy that people have to be put on hold for that long.

Staff was very courteous. Very short wait to be seen by physician. Physician was not rushed and allowed me to ask questions.

Dr. Hasegawa is rated one of the best in my opinion. I have been seeing her for 12 years and feel she should be recommended to everyone.
