Dr. Shichun Bao, MD

Dr Bao is the best! She listens and is extremely knowledgeable and good at what she does.

Dr.Bao not only has been my doctor for quite sometime now for my thyroid disorder. She is very intelligent and she has always been very informative and helpful every visit. I took my son to Vanderbilt after he had been misdiagnosed at another hospital because he was losing weight rapidly and was very sick. Dr. Bao was able to figure out within a days time that he had Addisons disease which is life threatening. I credit Dr. Bao with saving his life, and we are eternally grateful for her.

Very condescending, arrogant and uncaring. This woman has no business being a doctor.

I could not have been more pleased. Dr. Bao spent a great deal of time getting a complete medical history during my initial visit. She is obviously quite brilliant. She has tremendous knowledge about her area of focus, yet she took great care to make sure she answered all my questions and made sure I felt comfortable with her recommendations. She was very professional and very considerate during my physical exam, even while being very thorough . She was sensitive to all of my concerns, including the emotional nature of the problems I had been experiencing. I believe Dr. Bai to be one the finest doctors I've ever used.

Dr. Bao has some pretty serious listening skills issues. she came into to the office looked at my most recent lab work and announced that I was taking to much medication (T3 for hypothyroidism) when I explained that I had since changed dosages and medications. She simply continued to ridicule my other doctor from when I was living in Wa, repeatedly calling her a general care physician despite my corrections. She is in fact an endocrinologist. I then tried to give her a brief medical history and tell her why I had come to see her. She interrupted me, REPEATEDLY. I really could not get a word in edge-wise. Despite the fact that I left the office without her seeming to 'hear' a single one of my concerns it was really quite a long visit. Most of it was spent with her insinuating that I simply eat too many cupcakes, take too much thyroid medication, and I most likely just feel exhausted all the time because I am depressed. I tried to tell her that I live a very healthy lifestyle,… devoid of baked goods. I am ok with taking less thyroid medication I just want to feel better. And I AM NOT depressed. She countered by saying that being sick can be very stressful and depressing.

I have seen four different endocrinologists and she is by far the worst I have ever seen. She is extremely non-caring, didn't listen to anything I said, was rude, and even told me if I didn't like her I could find someone else. I can't believe how horrible she was. And then I get a bill in the mail - $400 for one measly 15 minute visit, not even including labs or anything. $400 just to meet with a condescending uncaring woman.
