Dr. Shireen Fatemi, MD

In 2001, Dr. Fatemi was my endo at Kaiser Panorama City. She gave me a biopsy on a goiter that I had and recommended immediate surgery. All went well. The biopsy was painless and her manner was so nurturing and professional that I was appalled at the ease of going through such a frightening ordeal. Fabulous doctor.

Please, do not see this doctor! Doctor Fatemi told me after I had a negative test result to look for differential diagnoses in an accusatory manner. I thought that was the doctor's job. Furthermore, she mocked the fact that I came prepared with medical articles. I was close to death at the time and a doctor like this is not one you want to see. Very lazy, unfriendly, an and all around bad doctor. I would give her no stars if I could. There's a reason most of her reviews are poor.

no response and not being listen when something goes wrong with your health. when she is not in the office there is no call back doctor. She rather email you and not call you back.

It took me a few years after my thyroid cancer diagnosis and surgeries to find someone like Dr. Fatemi. All the others were unwilling to listen, basing my treatment solely on lab results and not at all considering my quality of life. Dr. Fatemi is so willing to work with her patients, and has often responded to my emails at unheard of hours (e.g. 5 a.m. on a Sunday). The healthcare system may need a complete overhaul, but this doctor does not!

I initially selected Dr. Fatemi (although I had only two choices) because of her published research; I assumed that because she studied actively, that she would take a more progressive approach to treatment. Sadly, I think I was wrong.Regardless of what I've researched myself about Autoimmune Thyroiditis, Dr. Fatemi does not seem to believe that any other tests should be performed besides TSH, no other medication is needed besides Synthroid, and that an autoimmune disorder can affect one's body in any other way other than the thyroid itself. It seems as if I am destined for mediocrity in my HMO. As long my TSH is in a "normal" range, then nothing is the matter. Same old, same old.
