Dr. Shirley Andrews, MD

I love Dr Andrews. She is very personable. I appreciate how she takes time to explain everything and answer questions.

Andrews is dismissive, rude, arrogant and lacking in compassion. After a miscarriage last year, it was discovered I had some additional complications and concerns. Well, I was concerned…Andrews brushed me off completely. Even after I requested preventative treatment to hopefully forestall some much more serious issues she dismissed my concerns and clearly wanted to end the appointment as soon as possible. Well, here I am a year later getting ready for a hysterectomy and also having to take the SAME preventative treatment I had asked for last year and was denied to make the hysterectomy less dangerous. This woman shouldn’t be permitted inside of a hospital unless she is being treated herself. Please heed my and other’s reviews that she is a poor doctor and you may end up far worse off having seen her than if you didn’t.

During my prenatal visit I, I asked for clarification on her explanation of something because she was using medical terms I didn't understand. I only asked her once to explain another way so I could understand. Her exact words were, "I really can't explain it another way." She was unwilling to help me or hear my situation. She also wasn't listening to me. You could tell because she repeated back my medical situation incorrectly even after I told her, corrected her and my medical records indicated otherwise. Her tone was also annoyed, impatient and condescending. It was extremely frustrating because I tried to ignore the negative tone so I could just get help but she still wasn't willing to help me. I told her maybe we should end this call because it's unproductive and she just said ok. I wonder why she became a doctor if she's not willing to help people.

Dr Andrews has been consistently rude and disrespectful to my wife over the course of several prenatal appointments. Some basic kindness, people skills, and a little listening would go a long way.

Dr wasn't helpful, very poor skil

I was Dr Andrews patient for 15 years . She was with me threw my pregnancy and also finding my cancer early . I might not be here today if it wasn't for her thoroughness and expertise . She is also a warm caring person , anyone that has her as their Dr will be in very good hands . Since she has moved to Cali I can't see her anymore :( Thank you Dr A for everything you have done for me !
