Dr. Shirley N. Codada, MD

At 64 years old, I have been to many doctors and specialists. I am now undergoing chemo for a rare fallopian tube cancer, I was referred to Dr Codada by my Oncologist to discuss some difficult side effects and bone pain problems. I must say I walked into her office (which is new and beautiful, by the way) not expecting much. Not sure why, but probably because I felt terrible after my recent chemo treatment the day before. Dr Codada warmly came into the office to greet my husband and me. Her staff was excellent also. She clearly had read and was completely on top of my entire medical file. She spent 1.5 hrs with us and was an amazing listener! She ended up giving me a thorough physical exam and some excellent ideas to manage my side effects, including adding 2 medications. She also agreed to provide a very limited quality of an opioid, which is the only drug which controls chemo bone pain, which I struggle with for 2 to 3 nights after chemo. It is so intense, that I am unable to sleep,… which makes healing difficult. Dr Codada was an Associate at Moffitt Cancer Center for many years, so she is well versed on offering tips and help to deal with cancer side effects. At the end of my appointment, she handed me her business card and jotted down her personal cell number, instructing me to call her anytime of the night or on weekends if I was struggling with pain or other tough side effects. That was a first from any doctor!! This was one of the top 3 doctor visits in my lifetime.

She is a wonderful Dr..really stays on top of your health care...I hope your new direction is. An adventure for you, How's your son,? Did your trees ever grow ?
